As per usual with trenitalia, issues upon issues. Can't change the app's language: it's stuck in English which doesn't let me see the news or promotions. Can't check in for regional trains when it's late: most regionals are late, and if you wait to see if it actually comes then you can't check in anymore. Marvellous experience as always, thank you Trenitalia

There is a bug when you select the "frequent travel suggestion", i selected it but instead it appeared in an opposite order. You must double check it and make sure that you have the correct station. also the ticket doesn't sync so you have to always get the pdf files from your email..please fix its disappointing specially if you use the app frequently..

Clunky and not intuitive. Most functions are there but sometimes hard to find. E.g. the details of a connection can only be accessed when pushing the button, showing the delay. Also, I haven't found a way to get historical connection info, which would be nice if you'd like to pick up friends from the train station or if you'd need the info for other purposes.

Do not buy tickets with this app! I purchased and validated worth €15 with the app. The conductor claimed the tickets were invalid and charged me €140 penalty. Ok to check fares and schedules, but buy paper tickets from a vendor or a machine and validate them in a machine validator.

They've added an option to skip the tax code. Easy to sync tickets now

Wow, I was able to buy tickets on this app and actually get them via email. But after that one session, I can't get logged in - app complains about invalid credentials - though I know they are correct.

I usually purchase my tickets using the website. Since that's not working right now, and hasn't been for two days, I thought I'd give the app a shot. Well, it doesn't work either. Additionally, there are no (discoverable?) ways to purchase multiple tickets at once, something that is possible on the website. Last but not least, just like the website, the app is completely non-functional if you happen to be connected to a VPN. Please do better.

doesn't tell you what platform a train is leaving from. This makes the app completely useless, I can just use Google Maps to see what time trains leave.

Problem with this is that it does seem to sync very well with the actual station departure boards. Sitting in Milano Centrale it said my train was 5 mins late but the station board said 15 mins.

Worst app I've ever used. Requests information you shouldn't have to provide, then it doesn't even send you your ticket. App froze, couldn't retrieve ticket. Had to pay again, can't activate ticket, app froze. This time have retrieval code but only from there can you save the ticket to journeys, and only from there activate ticket. Is this a joke? Why are purchases not automatically saved? Why are they not automatically emailed? Why can't you activate from purchase screen? 0/10

Labor strikes happen all the time and then they cancel your train and make you buy new more expensive tickets because you are buying them at the last minute. Nobody at customer service speaks english. Terrible company.

I was able to register as a foreign visitor. I purchased tickets online for a certain date. When I logged into the app, the dates are different than what I purchased and what shows on the website

No dark mode. Moreover, at 21:52 on June 5, 2014, No. 20557 from Roma Tuscolana to Aeroport changed platform from No. 5 to 6 without any warning ahead of time. We had to go down the stairs and up again on the other side to catch the train after waiting for more than 40 min, having missed the 21:07 train. This is unfortunate. Not sure if turning on notifications would have meant anything. Then on June 8, 2024, R25531/25532 to/fro Lake Como, doesn't show Lago Camerlata station on its status screen

Was trying to change my train and accidentally checked in. You cannot change after checking in. Why not have an "are you sure?" dialog?? We had trouble booking a ticket to monterosso. The station did not show up even though that was one of the stops. Was this app made by a series of interns?

Trying to register is impossible. The form keeps clearing itself and you just keep starting over, can never make it to the end. Update: I successfully registered on the website but the app doesn't recognise the username and password!!

Completely antiquated with rigid terms such as fixed regional train instead of the whole day flexibility nowadays found all over EU railways; impossibility to buy tickets of regional trains in the last 5 minutes before departure; etc. It's also not possible to get a refund for an unused regional train ticket even if cancelled days before. No platform or real time information for upcoming journeys. All in all, a substandard app betraying the crippling bureaucracy of a backward country.

This is app is designed for booking long distance journeys. It's very tedious for suburban booking. You have to provide exact times and the names of passengers. If you change your travel time you have to first create an amendment that offers trains much later than you want to travel but book it anyway and catch an earlier one. You can't pay for a train less than 10 mins before departure. Actual departure times and platforms are easy to check in the check in the app.

not well designed for foreigners as you need a tax ID to create an account, and the only way to do it is by sending an email that is not well advertised or shown on the app . the purchase as guest requires a lot of info that it needs each time and is lost in the app if you lose internet connection, which is likely when on a train!

Useless app! It does less than the website does. Only Italian residents can register; that's not clearly stated. The rest of us have to enter our personal info EVERY time we purchase a ticket. I was hoping to be able to: #1. Store my credit card and other info for purchasing a train ticket QUICKLY. #2. Set up notifications for the trains added to "my journeys". The calendar widget on the notification form only allows notifications for today. Uninstall.

I used this app both last year and this year for vacations to Italy primarily with high-speed and local trains - I think it's pretty good. Easy to search and find routes, buy tickets, change times, see platform, etc. There's room for improvement like ability to retrieve tickets offline via the app, ability to access stops from the ticket itself, and maybe a tourist section to purchase the short-term tickets. I wish they'd replace the bad local apps (e.g. Naples) with this one.
