Every time the app is updated, it creates new issues. I cannot review the saved trips I have spent years creating. I cannot scroll through all my saved trips before the app locks up. With the newest update, I cannot save a new find to a saved trip. I only have the option to create a new trip. I tried to change the cover photo on a saved trip and it does not save/change it. Now having issues with website, which was more reliable. Looking for a new travel app. I've lost faith in TripAdvisor.

I just updated the app after getting a notification screen stating that the version I was using is no longer supported. Downloaded and installed with no issue but now it's impossible to open. When I try, I get the original screen telling me I must update. I have always liked the app, find it useful, but this is frustrating. I attempted to resolve via email rather than a negative review, but that was an exercise in futility too, so here I am. Adding to my previous review after encountering more frustration. I'm a registered user and despite being signed in, I'm suddenly and inexplicably unable to post a reply to any travel forum (something I've done successfully all along). I type in my reply, hit "submit' and absolutely nothing happens. I've tried repeatedly and am awaiting a response from TA.

I use TripAdvisor all the time! I love how I can save a trip I'm planning and add to it, change it or delete it whenever I want! I love all the answers I get from different destinations that help me make my travel plans. I think what I love be the most is seeing everyone else's reviews of places, hotels/motels, restraints, businesses, just all sorts of reviews that help in my trip decision making. Especially having young kids!!! I don't go anywhere without checking reviews to see if it will work

Not feeling the new app. When you use to search for things to do, they would actually give you a list of things to do, very helpful! Now you get some weird "social media" page of pictures and videos people posted about that location. NOT HELPFUL! It's like they're trying to keep up with social media platforms like Instagram. If I want a social media page, I'd go to my IG account! Stick to your purpose! Helping people find helpful info on travel destinations.

I love being able to look everything up and compare prices so easily. I hate how on several occasions I have looked up plane tickets, refreshed my screen, and the tickets that were literally 650 are now 820. This has happened to me several times, and i don't think its just "price fluctuating". Literally find the tickets, and the screen refreshing jumps the price by around $200 at least.

I've used TripAdvisor forever to plan trips, find the best restaurants, etc. It's been my go-to source for every trip I've taken or just to discover new things to do or restaurants around me. I'm uninstalling it as of today. It is no longer user friendly at all. You have to put in a location from the start and sometimes I just know the name but not the exact location. It was a good run and I loved having the "my trips" saved as a timeline for me to remember my trips so I'll really miss it.

They updated the app a couple of days ago, and now I am unable to find a restaurant. The filters are confusing and difficult to use; when filtering for types of food (PUB, PIZZA, etc), the app used to let you know how many restaurants you had to choose from. Not now. They also got rid of the button you pressed to get directions to the restaurant! What the heck?? Fortunately, Google still works to find me a restaurant! I used to depend on TripAdvisor; don't they read these reviews?

I changed from 5 star to 1 after the update in May. Very disappointed! I just want to get to the reviews, leave mine, and go on with my vacations. It seems to have a bug that keeps freezing when I review. Been using it for 5yrs now. Never had a problem until the update. I uninstalled and reinstalled and I'm still having the problem. Also with all the updates when I locate a place to go, you have to maneuver through the sales for tours. Thinking about uninstalling if this app.

Love the reviews. It's hard to review a place not listed as its difficult to find the instructions. Also double check to make sure the place is still in business. Got burned once a couple years ago in Baltimore. Overall, a nice tool to allow people to help others. Navigation amongst the forums is interesting, but watch which back button you pick.

20170619: Instead of seeing other's reviews of places I am searching, I see mine. This is truly annoying. Also, the filters for different types of places, i.e. romantic, family friendly, exotic, et cetera no longer appear. This makes TripAdvisor less useful. Getting odd results. As I search for results for one locale, I am being provided the results from elsewhere, and the app cycles through multiple locations unprompted.

A good way to figure out where to stay, what to do, what to eat. Edit: Aug 2021 I don't like the new app. The hotel part has evolved into a booking site. It used to be easy to go to a location and search for type of hotel or amenities and see the hotels ranked by rating without regard for availability. I might not be looking for specific dates maybe just understanding what's out there. You filter by perhaps a B&B when you want to see all. And you can't clear the dates.

It would be nice to be able to book car rentals from the app and if you added a travel itinerary page. Kayak is the only app that I've found that offers both. I like the user interface of this app the best though (thumbnail pics for hotels is very useful), plus your prices (and Kayaks) are the best around, there are a ton of people using your app which equals more reviews, and you offer vacation rentals in addition to hotels. Images are missing in your "my trip" section, needs work.

I always check trip advisor when traveling to find a place to stay or eat, and find the reviews very helpful. One suggestion that would be very helpful for those of us traveling with pets (would probably help with small children too): indicate if the place has a private entrance. I always have to scroll through all the pictures and hope I can find one that shows them. Updates have made it difficult navigate:. loved ability to search my reviews but no longer able to sort by location.

I like the app itself, but I don't want DAILY emails spamming up my inbox! I've repeatedly tried to "unsubscribe" in my account settings but it won't allow me to save the settings so I'm still getting the daily emails. It's sad when they think have to shove something down your throat every single day! I will be deleting my account altogether & blocking the email address! EDIT:May 16, 2019 WOW! I'm impressed! TripAdvisor has changed so much for the better since the last time I used it! Thanks!

The listings are extremely out of date. I have made more than one trip recently. Only to find restaurants and things to do, are around 50% closed permanently. Other establishments are closed for the season. I wish TripAdvisor would update the locations provided on their app. I also noticed several businesses are not represented through the app. So it's hard finding places to eat, shop, stay, or visit.

Good on phone, bad on tablet. Great app but every time I try to use on my Samsung tablet Google play service stops running. Wish they would update with fix. Update: This app seems to be getting worse and worse instead of better and better. Very glitchy and undependable which is not what you want in an app that you are using to plan a vacation. This app is very frustrating to try to plan a trip on, not user friendly at all. Trip advisor is mostly good for finding place you'd like to go.

Use this apptoften to look for venues and lodging with good reviews. I also provide ratings for places I visit, to help guide others. TripAdvisor gives me excellent resources for most anyplace I choose to research--and I hate it when I forget to look first! BUT i subscribed to TripAdvisor Plus the $99 a great. The app, not once, sends an email confirmation, not ever, though it says it does. NOW you can't even find TripAdvisorPlus to login or find-print-save your reservation. Last time I use it

Clearwater Beach was selected as #1 by Trip Advisor. There are so many inaccurate listings ...places closed, bulldozed, gone...still show up. Newer places not listed at all. Many ownership changes.... but worst thing is Trip Advisor lumps Clearwater Beach and the Mainland City of Clearwater as 1 destination so it is so huge.... you have to filter it out yourself as to where say a hotel is located....example you want a beach hotel...but you have 100 others in town to sift through...its stupid.

I use TripAdvisor to write reviews, post pictures and videos, add new establishments that aren't listed, and gather information for my travel blog / website (soon to be LLC,). I have stayed in hotels, resorts, vacation homes, rental properties, etc. for over 3,000 nights in the past decade (& across 100+ cities across the country), so I feel like it should be an easier platform to use and that it would offer valid information that isn't usually incorrect. I hope they work on the app.

Awesome! TripAdvisor lets you save trips, create an itinerary and add saved favorites to specific days/times, and has the most reliable and comprehensive set of activities to learn about and choose from for any location in the states or around the world. I've returned to this app again and again to reap its benefits. Access to knowledgeable tourguides and thorough descriptions with user ratings all makes this worth it.
