The service itself is amazing, but the app is atrocious. It crashes constantly, will sign you out so you don't get updates on sits or alerts for new ones, is slow to load, and then some says just won't work at all. Terrible, terrible app. Ive tired uninstalling and restarting it a million times with no luck. It really won't be worth it until they fix these bugs.

I've been using this app for several months very smoothly. There were a couple of annoyances, but the update that just got came up is awful. They've taken away the date search, which is vital. The app will only let you go back using the backbutton in the app, not from the phone. When you open a profile and back out, it sticks on a white page. I'm really frustrated with this downgrade.

App needs work. I get logged out of the app constantly which causes me to not recieve notifications hours later. I had a message today, for example, and didn't know until 8 hours later, and (of course) logged out of my account. Also, some of the things I am able to do on my laptop but I am not able to do through my phone which doesn't make sense to me. Overall, the concept behind trustedhousitters is great, but the app is frustrating.

Overall, it's a great app, works very well, and has a solid user interface. I have noticed that notifications from the app are very inconsistent, and I'm usually seeing invites and message notifications in my email but never on my phone. But this is a pretty minor detail since I check my email on my phone frequently. For users who don't check their emails often, some notifications could slip through the cracks.

Great idea, glitchy app. Mess with timezones - when I send message the app says "message was sent in 7 hours" (in future) because I'm not in UK timezone, my time is behind. I'm a software developer/architect and it's a very easy fix! Often you go to messages and try to open conversation but nothing happens, so I have to close the app and reopen again. Or go to applied house sits and click the Conversation button then messages will start working.

Frustrating app for 2 reasons. If you open a window to look at another app (e.g., Maps, so you can see that the home described in one city is actually 30 min away) then your search vanishes and you have to start over. And listings don't scroll by date order, so it's difficult to get a sense of what's available in a specific time period.

this first version of the app.has lots of problems but in the main the problem is loss of functionality from the browser version. no maps, no selectable filters. it slows and frustrates the user experience and focuses in the social profile aspect which is less useful. app makers: sitters and owners will communicate via whatsapp, you don't need to worry about messaging. what we need is simpler searching. god the sheer time a spreadsheet would save. just let us see the dates and a map. thanks

The UI in this app and website is elderly. Please update yesterday. [Edit in response to response: I have the app set up, and it needs lots of work. I don't understand how you can charge this much for an annual subscription but have a product that wouldn't have passed muster 10 years ago. All I'm suggesting is that you poll your users, or simply try to use the app yourself, and update it in major ways. Examples: being able to sort by recently favorited sits, sharing a sit with your partner via text/email, being able to sort by favorites, then still available, then by "not yet applied", etc. Being able to sort by country/area/region. Filtering out old sits because for some reason, on the website, those come up first?! There's a lot that doesn't make sense, and you need to figure out what needs to be updated ASAP.]

This app needs some work. If you leave the app, (to take a pic to post in it for example) it resets back to the home page and doesn't remember any filled out fields, so you have to fill it out again. I was selecting pictures and it reset on me completely. Weird UX choices like not allowing me to tap on my picture to replace it (like every other app ever), and nesting menus within menus to access info I want to get faster feels a bit cumbersome. Fairly straightforward but Needs work.

App is not good. I have 2 listings which I can see on a computer but on the app only one is there (??) I can't hit the back button on the Messaging feature and see all applications. There's too much to say here, basically this app is really not good especially when we're dealing with a time sensitive issue like trips and house care which is very important and timely. Can you work on this please?

Love the platform and been using it for over 2 years, however, the app crashes a lot, and the most disappointing part that they changed it to only have 5 applicants per house and then the listing disappears, which doesn't make any sense, especially considering time difference when trying to apply abroad. So you really need to be on top of it all day. For long term stays, there is no filter between 1-6 months, and messaging system is very slow, and sometimes crashes the app as well.

INCREDIBLY difficult to use. The site map is awful. I rarely find what I'm looking for. The clickable areas aren't clear; I go around clicking every place on the screen. Can't see a simple list of all the applicants on one page to compare. Cant see where I've reviewed applicants yes/maybe/no on the website. Seems like the sync for messages sent/ received happens twice a day. Basically the app is worthless. Not made for hosts that use it 5-6 times a year. I recommend the platform though.

The app is ok. As others have said, desktop is better. Unfortunately, this service just never worked for us. We had sitters cancel last minute multiple times (including one time when we were already at the airport), and then had to pay out of pocket for Rover or something else. Simply not worth the cost for all that risk, in our experience. Seems to work for others, and I'm glad about that, but we've had zero success in several attempts.

Message timestamp doesn't sync with user time zone. For example, an HO sends me a message and the timestamp displays 6 hours ago, when she just sent the message. This has been an ongoing issue and users have complained about it. If you're not going to fix the issue, then significantly lower your subscription rate. We shouldn't have to pay $$$ for an app that isn't being properly maintained. Thanks.

It's a great idea and service, but the app is so terrible. It's sluggish, eats your phone memory, and the user experience is horrible (e.g. your current session dissapears when you switch between apps, the map is unresponsive and its interactions are not intuitive, the interface is confusing and not user friendly). Please hire some engineers and designers if you want to keep your users.

After paying over $130, I'm realizing that alerts from saved searches, are being throttled and delayed. Multiple times I get a notification telling me of a new sit based on the alerts I have set up, only to click on it immediately, and find that the sit is "reviewing applications", which means they already have four applications. If I was not outside my trial period, I would get my money back. All this company cares about is upselling, rather than just charging one fee for everybody.

The system is fantastic, we have used it to travel all over and have met wonderful people and wonderful animals. The app could use a bit of updating, navigating the app is still a little bit less polished than it could be, and it could use some quality of life upgrades, but that's about the only complaint!

I spent a couple of months struggling to find a good solution for travel, thinking, "There HAS to be a better option than Rover" before I found THS. I have recommended it to several friends who all have success stories with the app now, and I have taken many more trips than I would have been able to originally, with nothing but glowing reviews to leave for all of my sitters. If you have a brain and can read, this is the obvious choice.

This app is so lame. With the app open you have no way to edit your saved searches. You can only delete them or save them. You cannot modify them. When skimming through the pictures of a property, the picture always fades to white and then skips to the next photo. But if you swipe too hard you'll swipe through many photos! That change of light with the flash of white that happens is so so annoying. There seems to be much less detail in the app than you can find online. This app needs a lot

The search feature is buggy especially when trying to search using the map, which is unusable. One cannot zoom in to see the listings, you can only click on a cluster and then see the list. I've been waiting over a year for this to be improved and have done far fewer house sits than I would have if the search was easy to use.
