I've been using this app for years to listen to talk radio and have never had any real problems with it. Recently they have added more ads. These are not ads from the local station I'm listening to. These ads always interrupt the content I'm listening to. Sometimes several minutes of ads at a time. I wind up missing a large part of the conversation I'm listening to. It's incredibly annoying.

I have been using this app for many years and after updating on May 9th it will not work on my phone. I don't know what it is with these developers that they cannot just leave well enough alone sometimes, much less do something to an app that renders it useless. I don't get frustrated with them anymore, I just delete them and use something else. It's not my phone TuneIn, it's you. Bye.

Love the app for listening to music and radio stations, but I had to uninstall the app because no matter how many times I closed the app or how many different ways I closed the app, it would consistency pop up and show a notification in the background like I was listening to a station and had it paused. It would popup a notification randomly, when I got a text, when I was even breathing deeply. They need to make a way to completely close the app until I choose to reopen it.

Advertisements have got out of hand. 4 commercials before I even get to the radio station I've chosen is not acceptable. And I'm sure they'll refer me to the paid, "Ad Free" version as an alternative, but I can stop you right there. Your app is too buggy for me to consider paying for it. Go back to 1-2 ads before my content starts, not FOUR.

Functionality has decreased dramatically with the last update. App freezes, buffers and crashes frequently after the latest update. If you haven't installed the latest update- DON'T. Update: I canceled my subscription. No point in paying just to hear the same recycled news stories over and over instead of commercials since paying doesn't do a thing to stop the app from randomly halting playback - which happens on stable home and work networks, not just streaming over cellular.

It crashes often. 5 times this hour, for example. Reopen and it plays 2 more ads before restoring the show. You miss a lot. It covers its own screen w/ programming suggestions I don't want. Like country music. Me? Country music? Obviously TuneIn knows nothing about me, despite all my usage & the fact that it's on my phone. So if you're an advertiser, you're not reaching your audience here. Super annoying ads. Car horn, dinging bells, etc. (They want to sell you ad-free, so they bother you.)

Overall, the bad seriously out weigh what little good it had to offer. Had three podcasts crash and on two them tech support refused to fix and instead blamed the media company for it. Too many error messages and not enough quality. A decent radio app but don't waste your money in the upgrade. ETA (4/21/24): they've now added automatic commercials (about 3 minutes worth) the second you open a radio station, that you cannot escape from.

Been using this app faithfully for years and no issue. Now I get frequent stops in the middle of shows I want to listen to. The pauses range from a second to 5 seconds and I miss things in the conversation. The ads now are too much. There is a legit 3 mins of commercials before I get to the beginning of the program. That cuts. I already downloaded another radio app. I don't wanna go somewhere else but soon I'll have no choice but to use another app. Yall was good, got better, now it's bad.

From 5 to 1 stars, zero if possible. Unable to listen to sports events, even with premium. Over the past year or so, I've been getting the audio message, "Thanks for tuning in. You are currently outside the approved territory to stream this play-by-play event...", or just the message "An error has occurred..." blah, blah, blah. I live 5 miles from my home team's stadium. I've been using this app for years, and my satisfaction has waned. The PC version of this app really sucks!

This app used to be great, but now it's borderline unusable. I'm usually pretty tolerant of monetization, but the way it's implemented here is just asinine: If you're listening to a live stream, for example, ads will pop up at the end of a program, cutting off the stream. When it starts streaming again, it picks up in real time, meaning you missed the end of your program for some terrible ads. What's more, it gets confused if you're streaming to a smart home speaker. Just find a better app.

I've been using this app for years and always loved it. I've never paid for premium and was fine with a few commercials but the past couple days, I get a minute of commercials when I change the station and another minute every few minutes. This is ridiculous. I'm not being driven to premium, I'm being driven to another app. C'mon TuneIn, you're better than this.

I'm trying this app out for the first time and so far it's not good. 1) Looking at radio channels, other than the title, there is no way to see what it's going to play 2) When I try one, I get a few ads, maybe 30 seconds of music then more ads 3) I can't see a playlist so I still don't know what the channel offers when it's not ads 4) Music doesn't pause while the ads play so songs are snippets 5) It makes incorrect recommendations for channels based on no input and no way to say what I like

Not what it used to be ... Recent updates will kill this app. It still has its old problems (you can't open your downloads library offline - the only time you need it) but now it drops your show constantly, and needs to play a solid two minutes of ads before opening it again. In the past, TuneIn was merely annoying. Now it's unusable.

Before, just one ad, two at most. Now, two or three, before you can hear the station or podcast. Sometimes one more is added, sometimes louder than others. If you hit stop or pick up a call or listen to something on your browser and come back to TuneIn, it starts the ads all over again (3-4). Absolutely ridiculous. Sick of this app now.

Lots of repetitive audio ads. There's even a video ad when you start playing, which is pretty weird for a radio/podcast app. Uses a lot of battery. Good selection of content. Live streams sometimes drop out and say "The station you're listening to is experiencing technical difficulty. Please stay tuned."

TuneIn used to be great before recent updates that exponentially increase ads and provide no ability to back out of them like before. My favorite stations are being removed presumably because TuneIn is squeezing the stations for additional fees and they are leaving as well. Controlling the App through my car is now more difficult as I can no longer cycle through channels using radio controls on steering wheel. This app is no longer a cut above the competion thanks to the Developers.

Removed forward and reverse. Was the best feature. Also loses connection to it's servers often. Not losing connection from phone. Also adds keep the screen on wasting battery. Most anoying app I have ever used. Does the new law require keeping the display on too? What a B's reply. This has only gotten worse with every update. Random drops and many more commercials extending into the programs. Msnbc has low volume but the ads blow out my hearing aids. I will be recommending to the few stations I

This used to be my favorite live broadcast and podcast app. NO MORE!!! This garbage app is now so glitchy. Even worse, this stupid app freezes up while trying to play the litany of video ads it now compels you to sit through before any content can start. In the developer's rush to add video advertisements you all have trashed the functionality of your app. Thanks to your incompetence and greed I found iHeart Radio. Thank you for that!👏🏻

Updating my review after many many years of usung Tunein. This app used to be great, very strong at keeping enough buffer so even if you run out of coverage you still have lots of minute of content to listen. It will also work great on my Android OS. Unfortunately its no longer like that... very glitchy, goes offline multiple times, I have re-installed it several time but nothing seems to get it back to what it was.

way too many fricken invasive ads. i listen to college radio (no ads) and i get ads from TuneIn in the middle of songs. and it's become much much worse. used to be an ad (usually back to back) every now and then. now it feels like every 10 minutes, or less. often every few minutes. more ads than last 2 minutes of a basketball game combined with a top40 station. ads are CONSTANT. completely UNLISTENABLE. look for ad-free alternatives; they exist (myTuner)
