Rename to "Glitch" Created an account for streaming myself drawing/painting and gaming. Used email to sign up, since they give you the option (not sure why tho). Try to start stream, error mssg "unable to begin livestreaming". Wasted some time on app troubleshooting, ended up contacting support. Turns out you MUST add a phone number to stream. Add my phone number, next day try again. Click record, window closes automatically. At what point is the app supposed to actually work? ridiculous.

A different game streaming service needs to get big because this service is absolute dog s***. Regardless of where I watch console, mobile, iPad, switch horrible every single one. It's not just the horrible quality it's from the layout to the navigation to logging in. All of it is complicated for absolutely no reason and in the end your stream is just going to look static.

Awesome point system and viewer engagement but if you're not subscribed to a channel, it's not worth watching them. Half the time on the channel will be watching ads, it's ridiculous. And to make matter worse, all the content is live so there's no pauses in contents, you're actively missing out on content for minutes waiting to get through the ads. Basically, just watch channels you subscribe to with Twitch, or it's unusable.

They probably could be sued for theft. If you subscribe to a channel, they don't grant access upon payment. From the website to the app, nothing consistently works, including logging in, staying logged in, finding a channel, or subscribing to a channel. Let's not forget how video playback skips, stops, and forgets its place, then is unfindable again. I have subscribed to one channel and consistently can't get to the content without a random video playing from a random start point.

I have been streaming on this app for a good chunk of the past 4 years and it has its perks. I love how theres always something good to watch on it and i love how they are always trying to stay current on everything too, the only problem i have is the fact that they restrict music playing so much, thankfully thats a minor problem because they still let you play music even if its a smaller selection for it

After years of buggy chat banners, desktop and mobile alike (hype trains, etc), the gift keeps on giving. New update finally fixed raids simply not working (I think) and got rid of a random graphical bug when in landscape with chat....But now if you leave the app at all, chat disconnects and the app requires a hard stop and restart to reconnect. Thanks for firing a giant portion of your workforce for seemingly zero product improvement. Genius decision makers.

The platform has taken to running ads before being able to watch a streamer, every single time you hop to a different channel that you're not subscribed to, an ad runs, the same damned ad will run throughout the stream as well. It's infuriating, I've stopped looking for new, smaller streamers because of the nonstop ads. The only way to remove ads is to get twitch turbo, you're being bullied into paying to remove ads. This platform used to be so good.

I've never had such a bad experience on any other social media app. It's so buggy. Chat disconnects randomly (stream works fine). Predictions will sometimes not let me click on them, and will often never even show up until I exit and re-enter the stream. I would say only around 25% of the time will I not experience bugs with Predictions. Its been like this for multiple years, the app is just not good.

Now it's busted as can be with the most recent update. If you look at the emote menu it bugs out and shows who's live instead and if you get an emote through it blanks the chat out. Thankfully the ":" option exists but that's bad. Also most emotes (channel ones included) are showing up as just words. Oh and another feature that I wish would work is the ability to exit out of predictions..

Loved Twitch before a couple of updates ago. I used it at work, but now, for some reason, the screen can't be locked while watching a stream. The background setting does not change anything, I have switched between never, always, and headset options without any change. Does anyone have any tips? Apparently, it's an old issue people had 3+ years ago before the background settings were added, which I must reiterate does not change anything for me.

The app itself isn't great, but the people on it are. You only get the best out of Twitch on PC with added 3rd party extensions that you can't get on mobile. Mobile app isn't compatible with many of the interactive bits of streams, like extensions. It's also impossible to make clips on mobile, as it will never load. Disappointing that I can't save a memorable moment just because I'm on my phone. I'm primarily a mobile user, if I was only on PC I'd probably give 4 stars

Every time this app updates it gets worse and worse. This app was perfectly fine around 2 years ago but they can't just let something be good and focus on minimal bugs. They have to keep messing with it and making more and more issues without fixing old issues. Adding stories and clip areas that barely ever change even when you watch just bloats the home screen. Makes zero sense. And the ads are out of control. Lately to the point I usually just switch to watching something on a different app.

I love Twitch, but until the providers fix the issues I won't rate it higher. Like over half the ads I get are triple the volume of streams, or if you try to claim channel points, if it claims it failed you have to restart the app or you can't collect anything and have to deal with the error message popping up every 5 minutes. If I have it in mini player and streamer hosts some one, it's not watchable as the "X is hosting Y" pop up locks into the miniplayer, same with the running ads thing.

I use Twitch all the time, both the website and the app. Up until now, I've been pretty satisfied with the app experience; sure, it had some flaws and bugs, but overall it was useable to watch streams on the go. However, the past few updates have RUINED the mobile experience. The first thing you see now is their terrible tiktok imitation instead of your followed streamers, you have to cycle between multiple chat styles, and overall its much buggier now. 0/10, I hope they change it back.

I used to really enjoy the app, but the ads really frustrate me. It'll go to an ad break, and there might be 5 ads in a row that are 30 secs - 1 min long, and it interfers with streamers I watch. And it will happen very often within the stream. I understand wanting to encourage watchers to subscribe to their streamers, but when they have a lot of streamers that they watch, or they dont stream very often, having a lot of subscriptions just isnt worth it. (I'm asking that you minimize the ads.)

The app is pretty intuitive as far as finding what I want to watch and also creating content right through the app. There are some minor QOL adjustments I'd like but not a big deal. What's horrendous is the ads. You tune in to a stream and a minute of ads plays and not 30 seconds into viewing the stream, another bunch of ads play. Most of the time it messes with the audio of the stream too so you have to refresh and ads play again bc you refreshed. It's insane.

This latest update, I find that the interface is at a more stable rate. I don't have a problem logging in. So, I'm so glad that I can now connect with my phone rather than using my gaming laptop all the time. Though, there are two quips that I have. #1 is that there are so many ads. More than before, I know that there is an ad-free paid for option. But, five to six commercials every six to seven minutes seems a bit excessive. #2 still like before the update, I'm having a hard time logging out.

The mobile viewing experience is so bugged I hate it. I watch all the ads, but once they're done, I just see a black screen and a mini view of the streamer I am watching. Since I'm stuck, I exit the stream and try to open it again, and then I'm shown another 7 ads bc they think I'm trying to skip them, when in reality, I already watched the ads right before. This happens like every other time I try to watch a stream on mobile.

Mobile doesn't support emotes. Unwatchable after the latest update. Streams stutter and glitch so much, even when I've closed background apps and am not actively downloading anything. I've tried multiple networks including cellular, and the behavior is consistent. I'm so disappointed, i like to listen to streams while I work and since I have a work provided laptop, I can't watch streams on the website. Hard to believe pc peformance is prioritized, I'm sure it shrinks your potential audience.

2016: It's pretty inconsistent with Chromecast quality unable to change video settings in app. Audio levels change occasionally for no reason. Have to restart app when first running it every night. Other than those gripes it's good. Not great, but good. Edit 2024: all the quality issues are resolved. Audio only is fun sometimes. I regularly miss notifications for some streamers that don't show they are live when I look unless I scroll down and back up. Otherwise 9/10 platform.
