Me and my partner both used Ubigi for our trip to Japan in March. Neither of us had used esims before so we did a bit of research and hoped for the best. We were going to be away for 21 days so we set up the app a few days before flying then bought the 30 day package the night before heading out. Had absolutely no issues the whole time and the value for money was pretty good. Would definitely use this again! (I was using a Pixel 4a and he was using a Pixel 7a if anyone's interested)

No access point named. Would not work. Had tons of SIM card dealers try to fix it in the airport. They couldn't figure it out. Ubigi does not have a customer service number you can call, so I just had to get a new SIM card. Simply does not work and there's no one to contact to figure it out.

I cannot access ubigi on my phone at all. I have asked for help and have received replies but nothing has helped with activating/ using this service. I have a monthly charge service. I really need someone to help me with this as my friend's account is working.

I enjoyed using Ubigi E-Sim during my last trip. It provided me with uninterrupted coverage. Moreover, it is easy to install and set up. Most importantly, there is a variety of packages to choose from. In regards to downsides, some packages are a bit pricey. Overall, a great way to enjoy your vacation without the hassle if buying a SIM card!

I have been using Ubigi for over a year now for the SIM card in my vehicle. I feel the monthly cost is very reasonable & I used them on another occasion when I went abroad & bought a virtual SIM for the Caribbean islands & got 3Gb for 30 days for $36 which I felt was great value & better than any other options I investigated. Give them a try, I won't change!! 5*

Activated without hassle. Coverage is very good, even on the subway. Relying on Google maps, the continuity of service has show the service to be a good choice. Finally, 5G in quite a few areas as well

It's easy to set up and it does work, but the performance in Japan was awful. Google maps loaded maybe half the time, no matter if I was in the middle of Tokyo or in some small town. Other options have to be better.

Ubigi eSIM (Japan): AVOID! Promised fast speeds but wouldn't work. Tried all troubleshooting steps. Switched to Airalo (great!) at airport. Ubigi took 24+ hours & only linked back to activation guide I already used. No refund offered. Look elsewhere for reliable eSIM in Japan!

Ubigi's account system has been offline for 5 days now. My phone failed to activate when I arrived in Japan (even though the eSIM has reception and APN is configured). There's no way to contact support, because the only way to do so is via a contact form on their website which - you guessed it - is not working alongside the account system 🤦♂️

On Pixel 4a: Stuck on the four intro pages; could not proceed. The app resolution (height) is wrong; screen got cut off at the bottom. Unusable. Hope to be able to try this app, as its rates seem pretty competitive, compared to Airalo.

Horrible customer service I brought an eSim card online for my stay in Japan. When I landed, downloaded the app, and logged in, it said I hadn't purchased an eSim. I have the activation QR code. I have the receipt. I've contacted them several times for a refund and I haven't heard back. Awful experience.

I see there are some negative reviews on here but that wasn't my experience. Bought 30 days 10gb for Spain and it couldn't have been easier. The app worked perfectly and I was connected to a fast network before the plane even hit the tarmac.

Even at best of times the speed has sucked, and I've tried in different countries! but now, i switched out my phone to a new one and can't even install the esim anymore, because apparently you have to explicitly remove it from the old one? Absurd design choice. oh and cherry on top - on my phablet the app only runs in landscape mode

The service itself is good. Used a 10 GB package in Italy and the internet worked well and the price was great. It was just that in the applications it was not easy to activate the service using Wi-Fi mobile hotspot from another smartphone with another Ubigi account, on which the data service (Internet) was also activated befofe. In this case, the application was automatically logged into the account of the smartphone from which the Internet was shared. And that was unavoidable.

I wish there were more data plans for the countries that I visited. I had to rebuy a 10GB plan because my phone kept eating up data, even with data saver on. Customer service also sucks, they aren't helpful at all and even though I've emailed them about a payment and restated over and over my problem, they never understood/never cared to fix it.

This doesn't work. I followed the instructions. The user interface in their directions are different from what you experience in the setup. I contacted customer support, and their advice was to follow the instructions. When I replied that I had followed instructions (along with screen captures showing such), I was told to reboot my phone and try again. No luck. I am deleting this app, their eSIM and moving on to a different company.

This app was working fine, now it only loads in landscape mode. Pixel 6. Nothing I do can fix it. Cannot navigate the UI to renew my plan. This was apparently a problem before, they claimed it was to be fixed, I never had a problem until now. Now it's worthless I guess. How stupid. Edit: You can still log in and renew on ubigi.me so at least I can get it to function.

Great app, everything worked with minimal confusion. would be better with more plan options. had to buy 30 days of data, way more than I needed, when I just needed a week. Having plans between 1 day and 30 would be ideal. Will look elsewhere in the future, but would come back to it if I can't find better competitors. it works, and that's good.

as an app: it's fine. A little clunky but generally workable. For example: the password for sign in can't auto fill because it doesn't integrate well with Android. But whatever. As a service: Ubigi is super convenient and works well. I've only used it in Asia but it was super nice to purchase ahead of time and have working data immediately. Similarly easy to top up from the app if you need more data. Overall: recommend!

The app was working fine on my phone (Samsung Fold 4) with my trip last year. I am now planning a trip aboard this summer and decided to check out the data plan. The app suggested that I upgrade to the new version. Now, it only showed as landscape mode. I can only slide three screens, but no menu option is available for me to navigate. Please fix this as soon as possible so I can use the app for my trip!
