Just like many others have said, i love Udemy, the desktop browser experience is good, but the app is terrible. Browsing and searching for courses are difficult, downloaded courses may or may not play back. While I'm traveling, i find it almost impossible to get it to connect, but i can use the website in my mobile browser. While using Chromecast the available controls are minimal and all kinds of weird things happen like lectures getting skipped.

The app does not work at all. It is almost impossible to login, it is impossible to download courses, it is impossible to view lectures and it is impossible to press the next button to see the next lecture. The courses themselves are good but the app is unusable. One course I bought some time ago has disappeared due to a "violation of Udemy policy" (it was a great drawing course), the money I paid for it has disappeared as well before I could finish it. A complete and utter disappointment.

I experience a lot of issues with this app: the list of videos is sometimes not loading and displays a white screen, sometimes the list is incomplete and there is no possibility to refresh it (had to uninstall/reinstall), when the screen is locked, the app doesn't switch to next video and play the current one again, it doesn't remember properly which video I listened and sometimes start over few videos back... the list goes on and on and really degrade the experience of taking the classes.

App has option to download lectures, but unbelievably won't let you watch them while offline (as in an airplane, for instance), making the app utterly useless. Other annoying drags are the fact that the app doesn't store the playback speed setting from last time you were on it (so you have to set it every time) and the unjustifiable waiting time between lessons (without an option to skip).

App doesn't show all completed lectures. Uninstall, then reinstall. Open app, open course, watch the lectures load and all of the completed lectures marked accordingly. Then watch the screen refresh and several completed lectures will no longer be marked as complete. How does one track progress? Developers introduced a bug and won't fix it. Users deserve better.

They fixed it so it doesn't crash & freeze anymore. What I wish for are some refinements. Make the sample videos play like a playlist as on computer. To see all the samples all the sections have to be opened manually to see the samples then each has to be played separately. Would be nice to have an expand all sections option. I no longer buy off my phone for this reason. Also, regarding computer version, please make 360p videos available for download like on phone. I travel with my laptop.

Overall, I'm a fan of this app. I love being able to watch courses on my phone or cast them to my TV and it has many of the features that I liked with the browser version. But it still needs some work. The autoplay is random at best. Sometimes it will play several in a row and then suddenly need me to click on the lesson to load it. Other times it doesn't autoplay at all. Worst is when it decides to start an episode several minutes in and I have to go in and fix it. A decent app but not perfect.

The most useful way to use udemy on my phone is to cast it to my TV. Unfortunately, the playback control after casting is painfully lacking. No speed control, no 15 sec forward and back. CC only works sometimes. You can't even get back to the playlist without multiple menu changes and restarting the video you're on.

I just purchased my 1st course today. The user interface is not great. I'm not about to see any of the downloads in my phone, they just don't seem to download. I'm on the computer now watching a video and I'm not able to easily rewind or forward again to take notes. When I pause it seems to skip and freeze. It's extremely frustrating to learn this way.

Login via email or through google account is not working. I was able to login through web browser without issue so it's not an issue with my credentials... On iOS this app is 5/5 but on my s24ultra I can't get logged it via the app. I've tried uninstall ingredients, clearing data and cache, restarting. I'm at a loss at this point. Also the support page for udemy and for the play store has not worked. Furthermore there is no tech support number to call. Beginning to regret my switch to android

Eh, I guess needs some fixes here and there. Switches to horizontal mode only to one side (uncomfortable, I can't charge my phone in this position). Course progress is unpredictable: I had 7% done, watched 40 min of course and my progress dropped to 5%! And when I refreshed, course list decided to stop showing my course at all for a while, lol. And this is only 1 day of very boring and limited use and not beta.

Don't do a subscription unless you are absolutely certain of the price. Udemy has zero customer support(check their web page) and they are sly about how much they charge you. I went to purchase a month to month subscription and instead was charged for a full year. Further more, they do not at all inform you that they do not, and will not refund you for a subscription. Only individual courses. I have recommended udemy on a number of occasions, but with the way they do business I cannot recommend

It worked well till the last update. I have been using Udemy for the last 4 years in my Tablet without any noticeable issues but on the last update all of a sudden the UI doesn't fit inside my tablet screen in Horizontal Mode and the texts are overlapping the videos I don't know what happened. The latest update is not good in terms of accessibility on the previous version we can check the course content side by side while playing videos now Device: Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0

Used to work great. Now all of the free previews for courses will not play in the app. I've tried deleting the cache, uninstalling and reinstalling, and nothing works. This is so frustrating that it makes me not want to purchase any more courses since none of the free previews load or play in the app anymore. Unfortunately Udemy has lost a customer who's purchased many courses in the past.

A lot of overpriced content poorly produced, with errors (e.g. in proper grammer and technical errors in exercises that are found by students, but never. Fixed by authors). Frequently my flags demarking my 'completed lessons' are mysteriously erased, leading me to waste time figuring out where I left off. Instructors routinely waste your time to 'beg' for positive reviews. On the one plus side, you sometimes get topics that are uncommon elsewhere.

I enjoy using the Udemy app offline when watching videos at the gym. However, a big nuisance I have encountered every so often is that the video would automatically play by itself in the middle of the night while my tablet is locked. It would wake up the entire house with the instructors booming voice. Very frustrating, hope this gets fixed.

5 stars for the platform. -1 stars for the course rating engine. This is a great learning platform but the rating bot is driving me insane. I'm taking a very long 40 hr course that is broken up into 300 short videos. The rating request has popped up over 100 times by now for this same course. It doesn't matter how many times I've already rated it or skipped it, nothing stops the annoying pop-up. To add to the annoyance it will interrupt auto play between videos. Please fix!

4/5 stars. The courses are awesome. I feel like this is my ticket to getting a promotion at work. Docking one star because not all content is downloadable that you purchase. I do a lot of courses where I do not have access to wifi // do not want to use up cell data (ie commuting or even flying) unfortunately this is an inconvenience/pain point. Also the UI on mobile doesn't have all of the same functionality as web.

Frequent failures. Have to reload this thing every few weeks. You requested a list of issues, let us make it public. Mass downloads of a course are not smooth. Gets hung up a lot. Download courses frequently unavailable online and offline. Sometimes videos, download or not, just wont play. The only workaround is uninstall and reinstall. Dark mode or not, after a video the bottom nav bar goes white. Prolonged use without manual correction will burn into my display. I can go on, out of room.

Terrible terrible player that freezes and refuses to play past certain points even with the lecture downloaded. Official support says you should reinstall the app ( deleting all the lectures you've downloaded) and redownload the content. While that works, it is hugely inconvenient and the problem reoccurs in just days later. Do not waste your money on Udemy, it is wild they cannot get a simple video player to work even when the content is downloaded to your device.
