what did you do to this app LMAO? absolutely unusable. it takes like 5 minutes to even get INTO the app when you first download it. even after logging into my account that's over 10 years old im still met with the unskippable pop-up interrogation about my skill level and favorite songs. then, once i finally get in, when I go to play a tab, there's no sound. turn the volume up and it shows as if it's casting audio?? uhh... i have nothing connected to my phone, and no other app does it. useless.

So many ads, annoying constant attempts to sell premium subscriptions. I swear every iteration of the mobile version of UG and the app gets worse. I don't want personalized recommendations. I don't want to subscribe to anything. I just want to read a tab and transpose, like I have been for the last 15+ years. I get an ad once in a while but this is absurd and practically unusable.

Pay to play. Ads make the app unusable. Menus and features don't work and they want more money. Having the app makes the web version no longer work on the phone. Would think the point of paying for an app is it easier to use an app than mobile web browser, however with this app that is not the case. Constant push notifications and emails, get this off of my phone.

Whoo boy this app fell off. Hard, too, in my opinion. I've used this app since i was ab 15-16 years old and recently every audio file for songs that have backing tracks are corrupted! It makes playing along impossible because the static corruption is so rampant! I cant get past the first chorus of any song before it starts going static, broken, and incomprehensible. Sad, man. I loved this app and now I cant even use it.

I was bombarded with popups and surveys as soon as I downloaded this. The ads are distracting and intrusive while trying to focus on chords and the features that require payment take up a large portion of the screen and if you accidentally touch any of them you are taken to a popup menu asking you to pay a monthly fee. If you cancel out of the payment it brings up yet another survey asking why you won't pay. The only reason I got the app is because the mobile website is so buggy and awful to use

First thing it wants is more money. Seems OK though after I paid it what it wanted. Landscape mode would be nice. Definitely needs more lessons. All are very very basic. The new upgrade has landscape mode thanks. UPDATE 2024: The new upgrade is junk. Every time I open it, I have to go through 20 questions. I already paid. I'm not interested in more. Just give me my app without the hassle.

Absolutely infuriating as a free user. On the website you are able to find and play along to plenty of tabs for free, but if you try to find them on the app, you get pay walled. I *would* use this service, if it weren't so awful to use on mobile. Additionally, the incredibly long survey at the beginning of installation serves no purpose that benefits the user in a meaningful way for the time it wastes. I assume the real reason this exists is for targeted ads, which I despise greatly.

80% advertisements and intentionally annoying interface trying to get you to buy premium. The app is almost unusable. It takes almost two minutes to reach the search bar so that you can look up the tab that you want. It's better to use the website on a desktop if possible.

Since the new update, I've noticed the app lagging a bit, and I've had a few highlighted chords not pop up when tapped. But the main problem I'm having since the update is the chromatic tuner. It no longer allows for alternate tunings, such as 432hz. I've messaged the developers but have gotten no response. My original 5 stars will go to 3 until this is solved. Partly because of the technical issue, but mainly for the lack of service/communication.

Unfortunately, the app just keeps getting worse. I had emailed customer support about 3 months ago about the issue of the tracks glitching out whenever you go to switch on a tab, but for a response saying that they didn't know what I meant. They needed a video. When I uploaded and emailed a video of the issue, the support person said they didn't see the video and stopped responding. Horrible. I have the subscription too, which is incredibly irritating.

I see some of the updates that were recently made but now I can't create/add a new playlist! Please fix it, this app is quickly becoming an app I hate working with. It use to be a great app but once you started making changes, it's only gone downhill. It hasn't made it easier to use but rather more difficult. And I still hate that the songs are in alphabetical order but aren't separated like they use to be which makes it a slower process when trying to quickly find a specific song.

Thank you from all the beginners who had no money for lessons nor YouTube at our time! Determined to learn guitar with the opposite hand and struggled my way through basic chords - you are a HUGE help for sharing the music, chords, ability to transpose, share, and print, etc. Some of us just want to play, not be rockstars 🤣 God bless you all for sharing the knowledge. 💝🙏

After years of using free I finally jumped into a subscription. I don't regret it. Just in the last couple days I have improved thanks to accurate tabs. My timing and rythm has gotten better thanks to the quality. One thing I think that would be a great add is a count in. So say 5 seconds, then the tab starts so you can have time plave your hand and be ready once you hit play.

New version, new screens that you can't skip. Down to one star. This is not for actual guitar players. Also it keeps turning on notifications that I disabled. Fix this or you're losing my subscription and probably many others. This is a musician's app, not an advertising platform. Stop with the endless questionnaire every time I install the app. I pay and shouldn't have to deal with that aggressive user experience.

App was suggested to me to learn guitar, and it looked promising at first, enough to start a trial. Then spent several hours trying to navigate and check out some courses. I gave up, couldn't figure out the layout and only some videos in some courses worked. I eventually found the tabs section, which is behind another subscription, I'm out.

Unusable for a working musician: I was at rehearsal the other night, and it seemed like every chart I pulled up was in a different key from the original, and when you try to transpose it, you get a pop-up that you can only do that in the app. So I tried to install it, but it asks SO many questions before you can actually load a chart, that I gave up and uninstalled it. I've been a Pro member for several years, but this crossed the line for me, I'm out. Cancelling my membership.

Edit 2 (6/14) - They fixed it! Thanks people! Love this app, nothing else available compares! I'm on year 3 of my subscription to UG Tabs. The first two were perfect. A recent-ish update has made it impossible to select a different instrument in the drop down menu for selecting the different tab parts. When they fix it, I'll change my review back, but, for now, I cannot recommend.

I just want to look at tabs on my phone, but the app forces me to fill out an interminable, unskippable survey about my current skill levels, goals, music preferences, age, singing talent, etc. before I can actually use the app. I don't want goals for practicing, or song recommendations, or any of that BS; I want to find specific songs and view the tabs on my phone. I definitely DON'T want to build a detailed profile with my personal music taste & demographic info for UG to sell.

Its an ok app. If you're beginning or don't know where to find other tutorials or tabs it's good enough to get you playing, but it's not a service that's really all that good. It's ok. I paid for the premium, which is kind of ok too. The only negative is how little of the song you can see at a time and the auto play is atrocious. The noises the instruments make is really just intolerable and bothersome, especially if you are trying to listen to the actual song

The library of tabs and chords is amazing and if you a subscribed to the pro version, you get access to the official tabs with great sounding backing tracks. That said, the app is very buggy. When switching from landscape mode in the tabs back to the list it forces you to view the list in portrait, not landscape. This is a big annoyance for me. Also when the browsing is kinda buggy too, it doesn't remember where you came from sometimes and clicking the back button brings you to a different spot
