Worthless and invasive app. When I finally did get app running. It requires to know your location and send you endless notifications. I live in a rural area. But when in town, my phone screams like its on alarm from their notifications. It is all about impulse spending. Advertised additional miles at Home Depot when shopping for kitchen items. So I purchased 1350$ worth of kitchen cabinets for new house. Now their terms change yet again still no added miles. It is now deleted. Far too invasive

I've been using this app since around 2006 and it's been great up until the last 2 months and now every purchase fails. I've uninstalled it and check for updates and add a new credit card and even change my phone and it still doesn't work. I have contacted United MileagePlus as requested in the error message 3 times and not gotten a response as to why this is not working.

It worked great for a few weeks, and now all I get is a loading screen. The app is updated, and I have tried reinstalling it a few times, which will get me into the app but it will continuously crash and tell me I am not logged in and not let me click on anything. And then it goes right back to the constant loading screen. Be great if I could actually use this.

UPDATE: I figured out that if your phone's location is off, the loading circle continuously cycles and the app won't work. I leave my location off for privacy, but for this app I have to put location on for it to function. I wish location were optional. ORIGINAL: Similar to other reviews, this app worked for a few weeks but now when I open it the loading circle continuously cycles and content never appears. I've tried clearing the cache with no luck. Have to access via web browser instead.

App barely works. 99% of the time when trying to purchase a gift card it says Purchase Failed and to contact customer support through email. However you won't get a reply if you do email them. Seems like an issue many are facing, tried logging out and back in as well as reinstalling app. Nothing really makes a difference, on occasion you might get lucky and be able to buy a gift card

Update: United contacted me and gave me a potential solution. They advised me to go into my Mileage Plus account (website) and re-enter my address / phone number for each credit card I had registered on the site. Once I did that, I was able to make gift card purchases again as normal! --------- This was a great app but now is full of errors, authorizes and puts holds on cars but never actually generates the gift card. The old app worked perfect. This one is garbage.

Update - they've added fingerprint login, but now there is a new bug that often says credit card address doesn't match, causing purchases to fail while you're standing at the register. Looks nicer, but now many important features are buried. Android version does not allow fingerprint login. This adds significant time at register to buy the card while everyone is waiting for you. This app needs fingerprint login.

Keeps saying "Enrollment error" when trying to add my card. Buggy (slow, unresponsive) search and TERRIBLE interface on this redesign! The previous version of this app was MUCH better to navigate and easier on the eyes...and more functional than it is now. Way to go in making it LESS user-friendly and slower right at the busiest shopping time of the year! Will be using my other shopping rewards memberships until this improves. Update 2/12/19: NO improvements! Worse than before.

I think the new version of this app has a bug in it. When searching for local places the current location of the user does not always get updated. I turn off and on my GPS location and my location still doesnt update. The old version did not have this issue. Sometimes I have to fish around to find the business i am at, and if i am short on time i dont bother. I have been using this app for at least 3 years at this point.

Completely frustrated with this app. I've earned a lot of miles, but it does not work many times. I had large purchases I was looking forward to making with the app and my double points credit cards but the app will not complete the purchases of the gift cards I need to buy. This has happened on many occasions over time. Other times you cannot open and access GC you already bought. Right now y it takes forever to even load the page to purchase a gift card, then denies the purchase. The problem is with the app as I have double checked all my cards and they are fine. Two hours messing with this and gave up.

I have made several attempts to use the app (Android version), and every time I just get the loading image. Whether I am using data or Wi-fi, the app never loads. I have checked to see if the version was outdated, but it is current. I would love to take advantage of the deals offered through this app, but we need a version that works. I receive notifications all the time. I just cannot do anything on the app because it never loads.

Previously I would have given it 4 stars, but they overhauled the app a while back & removed an important feature--the ability to refresh balances on purchased cards. In the previous version I could drag down to refresh (with the caveat that some cards may not update). No longer. I also drop a star because they make it very difficult to delete a credit card once added (adding is easy), & the fact that you have to do this on your MileagePlus profile isn't even mentioned in the MileagePlus X FAQ.

The app was working great for a long time and was really helping me bump-up my miles. Plus it was also a great tool to use some of your miles to purchase gift cards for everyday items as well... But then suddenly just quit working, it wouldn't let me log in, and it kept telling me it didn't recognize my account. I uninstalled the app, and reinstalled it, so now it seems to be working again... But I have my concerns that it's going to be doing this often. If the problems continue to persist, I'll probably have to uninstall the app for good and just give up on it.

The Programs portal will not load 95% of the time, which is the most important page! I've uninstalled and reinstalled, cleared cache memory, etc. and nothing seems to fix it. I'm also running the latest version of the app at the time of this review. When it does work, the features of the app are good. Very dissapointing as it's virtually useless without that portal page!

(update: now it doesn't work at all). After the latest update, you can no longer search for anything. The magnifying glass doesn't do anything, and clicking in the search bar does nothing- no cursor or keyboard pops up. This makes the addition of mileage plus shopping to the app kinda worthless. It's way easier to just use a browser since you can actually search for things there.

Great app for finding ways to earn Mileage Plus miles. I took away a star because there's one feature that would be really nice to have that is missing: for Mileage Plus Dining, it is not possible to search for restaurants anywhere except your current location. This makes it hard to "plan ahead" when travelling. Also: when travelling, sometimes the app gets "stuck" with the GPS coordinates of where you were when you opened the app before, and it refuses to update.

It sounds great to get bonus miles, but as I recently checked my chase statement, the bonus miles do not show up. In the mileage app, it can show 400 pts (4x plus 25% bonus) but then only shows 100 pts (1x) on my chase statement. I've reached out and still don't get an answer as to when i will (if ever) receive the miles. I've seen this on numerous of transactions I've completed on the mileage app and do not add the bonus miles to my account.
