The only TeX compiler/editor app on the PlayStore. This is a must have app for students and teachers alike. ★ Has option to generate simpler PDFs on the fly in "LocalMode" without having to upload any files. ★ As all packages cannot be installed on Android devices, for complex documents we will need to upload the files, but the server is fast. ★ Has option to change the compiler from "PDFtex" to "XeTeX", which is awesome. Please keep up the good work you have been putting towards this app. 🙏

Back to texlive until app gets fixed Yes using right app, storage permissions are on, but doesn't let me save file and when exported, exports default template, .tex file is exporting properly in texlive. Using A12.

Tried to open a file stored on my phone but that's not possible in this app. It only allows you to create new files and start from scratch. It's strange that the developers didn't think someone may want to work on some file they already have or received from someone else. Edit: updated my review after reading the response from the developer. However, I still think the process is too complicated. Isn't it possible to have an "open" option in the menu?

Surprisingly well put together for a mobile app! It's fast functioning, and easy enough to use/navigate. The only drawbacks are a few bugs with syntax highlighting, and a lack of in-app documentation or auto-fill suggestions for package & command phrases. Over all, it's the best LaTeX app I've found!

This app is very lacking in prompting options, e.g. the very common commands like, \usepackage, \begin{}, \end{} etc. It should also automatically end an environment once it is begun. Also it should show an error if the second parenthesis is not closed. Basically, there is still a long way to go before it achieves the status of a platform like Overleaf.

I don't know how to use Japanese, but I can write formula in the same way as LaTeX in pc. And this is enough light and fast. I typeset a LaTeX file to a PDF document containing formula, found the file in the data folder of this app, and could send it to my friend. This is easy way to explain math with smartphone. I want to use plainTeX format if possible because it's easier to make irregular style of documents than LaTeX.

Amazing experience. Never thought I could do LaTeX projects in my mobile this easily. This app opened a door to my office from my mobile. But there is no auto completion. I thought bib files can't be edited in this app but a prompt reply from the developer told me it can be easily done. Also the reply told that the code completion is available in the pro version. I've immediately bought it. but I think it doesn't worth it. Code completion is only first level.

Overall a very solid app. I can work on my projects anywhere and I don't have to worry about installing packages anymore. However, there are some features I'd like to see in the future like a replacement function, autocomplete, add biblatex support, jump to part in the pdf that's selected in the source code and vice versa and lualatex support. Add that and I'll give you 5/5. 👍🏻

Despite the app is a wonderful tool, with Android 11, we're not allowed to move files freely between folders in Android/data and the app itself doesn't have an option to specify a different folder to save files in, the app only gives two options that requires a sign in with an email... That's a bummer.

It takes ages to get your projects inn when connecting to dropbox. If you already have several projects you will only be able to access two of them. This is a problem since you can't specify witch project that is. Example: I have 8 projects in overleaf. They are being synced with dropbox. I need the ability to edit one of them on my phone. You can't specify witch folder, so I can now edit something I don't need, while being lock away from the one I need. Utterly useless for my use case.

I really like it, but could I request an autosave feature? How many times have I forgot to save only to come back later and my work is gone

Difficult to use. Guides on internet wrong - doesn't allow set local directory. Only allowed Box or DropBox sync (not Drive on an Android device??). Allowed me to add existing files to project, but instead of modifying the files where they were, made a copy to edit, so I had a big panic when didnt see my latest MASSIVE AMOUNTS of changes. Why? Also didn't recognise existing LaTeX files (extension .tex). Was easier in the end to just download a File Manager app and opened and edit it in that app.

Thanks for your reply! I've bought and downloaded your Pro version, and meanwhile updated my rating for the free version. __ Good, but I'm not going to use it as I'd like the app to sync my files with Dropbox (or OneDrive). That way the content is stored in my Cloud spaces. Then it's also under my control in one place, e.g. as local files on my PC.

It's a good app. However, it will be better if you make it offline app and can support more files, though it is not premium.

This is really a great app for students who need to do stuff on latex while being at home. Convenient and easy just like how we do in Pc,lab

Excellent latex app for AI chat GPT code!! My only remark is that if there some discrepancies between Chat GPT outputs and VerbTex in the packages that need a latex code editor to run, just ask the GPT AI and it automatically updates the code once and it learns from that in the vast future of next uses..Great, thanks.

Just what I was searching for. It made my project look very presentable and it does not require any payment as it's a free online app.

i love this app! My only complaint is that when I view my code as a PDF on my chromebook it takes me to a separate window on my browser to show the PDF. On my ipad pro this app doesn't do that, it directly opens the PDF from the app. If there's any way to fix that I'd be very happy! edit: your split screen advice worked perfectly, thank you! I noticed one more thing, though. Do you have any advice to make the app generate a new pdf to the same browser tab? Because mine generates every new update to a new, separate tab.

Nice for 1 page doc, but some serious shortcomings for longer ones. 1. Strange bug wherein after typing a character the window moves to the end of the file. 2. No search utility, really? 3. Generating a pdf takes you to page 1, rather than where you where editing. 2023-02-14: Ah thanks, I didn't realize that "Action Toolbar" meant "Find & Replace". :)

It's exactly what I want. Typing code-like things on a phone is tricky, but they include some of the more syntax symbols, ()/$ without needing to change your keyboard settings. Previewing the document is easy. And yeah, at the end of the day, you're writing a tex file, so you can use the cloud sync feature, or you can just copy it to run with another engine elsewhere.
