I signed up to watch a documentary, and then I still had to pay to rent/buy the doc. Vimeo no longer supports Roku, so I couldn't watch it on my TV. Apparently there is a way, but it wasn't obvious and honestly it shouldn't be that complicated. Finally, canceling is difficult . It's not in the subscription section of the play store. If you are still struggling to find it, go to the Help Desk, scroll down and click Cancel, then click on Billing Settings and turn off auto renew. Annoying!

Lots of bugs, some functionality (like purchasing content) only available using a desktop computer unless you want to get stuck in a redirect loop forever. Basic features like remembering where you are in a video are missing. Really annoying to try and get within 5 mins of your goal time using just the usual scrub control on a 2 hour movie. Overall a bad app, hopefully it'll improve eventually. Downgraded from 2 to 1 star after I'm not even able to log in on a Pixel 3. Useless.

Like all vimeos apps for all platforms, this app is useless. It fails to load, crashes, won't login, and the 2% of the time it manages to open, not crash, or login, it either wont load videos (or thumbnails for that matter) or takes 2-3 min to load a 720p video and then playback immediately pauses and wont continue. I've been on Vimeo for over 9 years and they have some of the highest quality content on the web, but clearly their business model just doesnt care to support it.

I was hoping this would be an alternative video platform, sadly it isn't, can't find content when I search. I'm sure it is worth it for some, just doesn't have content I wish to watch at this time. To delete you account you'll have to go to a computer, since on the phone you can't click on the confirm button. They hid it behind the menu. Go figure, speaks to the quality of the app I guess.

This app is garbage! I was searching for a channel, and the results only showed old videos from the channel. Nothing newer than this past April (it's currently December) and no link to the channel itself. Once I jumped through hoops to finally find the video I wanted, I had to add to watch later to play it All this because I got a message on my Roku that they ended support for tv apps, and you have to use Chromecast or Apple from your mobile device. Guess what? No cast icon on the video either!

Only place to buy James Acaster's special. Doesn't keep the screen on. I wasn't expecting YouTube features, but geez. There's a lot of nitpicky things, no picture in picture or whatever it's called to use another app with video going, and the poorly designed layout. I can look past all that, it's fine. But it's easier to watch through the Chrome app on my phone so I don't have to touch my phone every 15 seconds for a 2 hour program.

Does not play videos in the background (eg: when the phone lock screen is activated or when another app has focus). This is a key requirement for me as I mainly use the app to listen to presentations on my headphone whilst walking (with the phone in my pocket) or when driving (when I have my navigation map open). YouTube premium allows you to do this and I use this a lot. Would be very keen to see this added. Thank you.

The website is unbeatable. The Android ap, not so much. Besides denying the ability to like/love videos (no idea where they comes from unless the maker denies it, which makes no sense), you are unable to select which accounts' video posts appear in Notifications. All or nothing. And for a platform that does so many things so well, this functionality lack makes no sense. Ever. Particularly in 2021. Definitely an opportunity for an immediate adjustment.

Ok Vimeo. C'mon. I've paid you for almost 10 years straight. This app is by far the worst experience I have with any app on either of my devices. This is terrible. It freezes. The design is lackluster. EVERYTIME I launch the app and go to videos none of my videos show. I either have to wait or reload the app. That's a server side issue. This isn't good. There's more problems like not having ACTUAL control over your content from the app and instead still needing to do x,y,z on the desktop.

So far, so good! I uninstalled Vimeo app several months back because it wasn't working well at all. I was never able to "like" videos, the app would freeze or crash... All extremely frustrating. I decided to give it a go again and see if the issues have been fixed. I will return to give more stars if the "smooth going" process continues. Ten minutes later, it's freezing up and I can't even log in. Obviously nothing has changed. I've never used such a non-functional, frustrating app. Uninstalling

I just installed the app today. It's like a breath of fresh air, everything is different and new from other video apps I've used. Excited to explore it. Already having an issue with the search bar. Absolutely nothing shows up when searching any word or name, the screen is just blank and white. Also the screen goes completely black after selecting certain options thru out the app. Please fix these issues!

This app works to some extent, but to a large extent, it's useless, especially for videos broadcast live. On a cell phone, both regular uploads and live videos can be viewed on device... but the Chromecast feature fails with an error if you try to Chromecast a live video in progress. (YouTube doesn't have this problem.) On the Android TV version of the app, it's even worse. Any video which was recorded and uploaded live, whether in progress or archived, just won't show up and can't be viewed.

For a fifteen dollar rental there are sure some quality control issues that need to taken care of. First, it doesn't play on my phone. That's fine, I just rented one series and can watch it on the tv, but I certainly wouldn't have a subscription with that monster of an issue. Playing videos is like...your main thing. Maybe it's my ad blocker, but again, for fifteen bucks there better not be any ads. It does play on the tv but it pauses every couple minute to buffer for a few seconds. Very weird.

App provides a clean interface and solid experience. Gets the job done. I especially like that the feed does not bombard you with endless videos that seem too customized and therefore like unhealthy distractions. One feature request: be able to play video audio in the background, even if one switches to a different app or locks the phone (e.g., while going on a walk). There are many videos where the user in reality would be satisfied with only the audio. Thanks for the great product!

Good quality videos, but really challenging to navigate the app; if I exit a video it goes all the way to the beginning of the list and I have search and work my way back to the video. There's no "continue watching" feature. Watched videos don't show up in my history. My feed has unwanted material, suggestions, staff picks that outnumber items from accts I'm following. Would love to be able to set up a playlist and determine what order videos will be played, especially when watching series.

I got the app because the mobile site is truly an abomination and it incessantly begs you to download the app. So I downloaded it. I can't even get through the first screen where it wants all of your personal information. I dont want to give you my email, I dont want to give you my Facebook, I just want to watch quality content on your platform, and the app just freezes every time I try to skip the opening screen so it's entirely unusable. It makes me sad because the desktop version of the website is so good and is such a good competitor to YouTube, but the app won't even function from the get-go and the mobile set is almost literally unusable.

The video player itself needs some work. Every time I go to another app and back to Vimeo, the video player starts the video from the beginning or even just goes back to the homepage. Same thing when opening the app in multi window while playing a video. Even changing the size of the window restarts the video. Also I would like to see more options for playback, including video speed, tap to skip forward, play as audio/in the background, and an overall smoother picture in picture experience.

It's okay. The website is more user-friendly. The main issue I have is regarding captions. I've looked everywhere on the app, and there is no option to put caption/subtitles (no CC option on the video itself or in settings). Again, it's not an issue on the website, but then it defeats the purpose of downloading an app when features like captions aren't even an option on there. I'm crossing my fingers that they see this. If so, please fix that issue.

I was consistently using the TV version of the app. When the app froze, I uninstalled it, and when I went to reinstall it, Vimeo was no longer available to install on the TV. I know they weren't going to update the TV app anymore, but they should have made it possible to download the older version. Some of us prefer using our TV remotes to browse, and using it for voice commands. Having to stream from the phone is inconvenient and an unnecessary step. As a long time user, I'm very disappointed!

Really a horrible app. I'm not sure why this app was even published.. when you download a video successfully, nothing shows up under "Downloaded Videos". When you watched some of the video and come back after using another app or taking a phone call and it never remembers where you left off. These are basic functions that this app is somehow missing.
