Vocalizer TTS Voice (English)

September 30, 2025

More About Vocalizer TTS Voice (English)

Vocalizer is an embedded TTS engine that provides expressive and natural sounding voices in over 50 languages.
Vocalizer enriches the user experience for a variety of applications on your device such as GPS navigation, E-Book reading and assistive software.

*** IMPORTANT NOTE ***
- Each voice can be purchased through a simple In-App purchase process. App includes a 7 days trial to test voices.
- Recent Google apps updates force using their own voices. GPS apps (maps) or the AI assistant, ignore text-to-speech settings, only allowing Google TTS. This decision from Google has been strongly discouraged by the Android community but as for now, we cannot ensure compatibility for this apps. As an alternative, you can use Vocalizer voices on other GPS apps like "Navigator" or "Sygic", that are compatible with Google Speech APIs.

Some of the features of Vocalizer include:

- Support for over 120 voices in over 50 different languages.
- Emoji support
- Easy customization of pronunciation through a user dictionary.
- Reading speed and pitch customization.
- Number and punctuation reading preferences.
- And many more!

Once the application is installed on your device, you can make Vocalizer your default Text-to-Speech engine by going to Settings > (System) > Language & input > (Advance) > Text-to-Speech output, and checking “Vocalizer TTS" as your default/preferred engine.

It completely messed up all my screen reader apps. Now I can't get ereader prestigious to work at all, it just gives me a 'speech synthesizer error', even after uninstalling Vocalizer TTS. Even after uninstalling and reinstalling the screen reader apps. Even after restarting the system. Now I will never be able to use that app on this phone again. Thanks.

Works okay for some apps but I would like it to work with SMS My Car and me. I get an error from the other app that language is not supported. Vocalizer then goes on line and connects with servers and displays available languages. I would like Vocalizer to work with the hands free app if possible. I have tried all the various settings in both apps with the same error popping up.

Was working great. Don't know what happened? After I reformatted my phone & reinstalled the app it will no longer work at all. I wrote support about it multiple times & they have not responded. Such poor customer service not to mention very upsetting! You need to do the right thing & fix this!

I'm here to set the record straight as I can't understand all the negative ratings. Yes, u get a 1 week trial. Yes, you have to pay a small fee after the trial period if you want to continue using the voice (I think it's $4 per voice). That price is totally reasonable for voices that are very high quality. The devs need to earn a living like everybody else, and they deserve to be compensated for their hard work. How would u like it if you had to work for free?

After reinstalling I lost all my purchased licenses but then somehow it did detect them again so I revised the rating. The voices are ok in non English languages such as Spanish, Russian. For English Ivona still best unless you ok with Amazon poly pricing. German good is Ivona and voxygen. If you got Samsung device find on web old HQ Samsung voices (don't know who made them) like German, Spanish. French is good in Voxygen. English Cereproc. Use with AUTOTTS app on Android and you can switch.

Don't install this if you use TalkBack. The 7-day trial is ajoke. It left me in the lurch after a few hours with the message "register Vocaliser" and a non-functioning phone. It was also optimised for Android 14; therefore old and a possible security risk.

It seems a faked Offline app. After installation and download few of advertised for offline packages within a 7 days Trial Period, in same day few minutes later when relaunched it said Trial Period Expired... I never blindly purchase not trial able app especially when I suspect same tricky basing on Google ASR and TTS that recently even Google' weird Anti development? just stopped for any app in Android 14 at least, instead of letting users to decide or even pay if works like in past at least

the previous bugs and issues that I have reported have all been fixed on the latest update. The only thing that's missing that will make this app 5 stars is the ability to combine/bind media and accessibility volume. this was actually the default Android behavior before Android 8 was released. and this is how iOS and iPad OS works to this day.

Fixed the issue with my tablet, until the update, upon reboot, I would have to download the language pack again each time. So far so good rebooted and left tablet off and no errors. Some of the voices are hit and miss, my likings are Zoe (US English) & Karen (Australian English). Since I'm visually impaired, I tried a bunch of voices with my accessibility software to see which worked best with it.

Look, I know you guys need to verify purchases, but please do so in a better way. Every now and then it suddenly became unable to verify purchase, and I can do nothing but wait until the system finally somehow detects that I indeed had made the purchase. It took quite long too, around 15 minutes. Please fix, thanks. Update: Thanks for listening

Please update the voices. An option to download a better sounding higher quality version of the voices would be great. Even with the PRO version that is offered it does not produce a much better sound. Some of the voices that I purchased always sound like they have a echo when they speak. Thank you.

This seems to be pretty good so far. The voices are kind of more on the robotic side, they don't sound very natural, but they're okay. I do like that you just pay $5 to buy a voice outright and you don't have to pay a monthly subscription. I also like being able to change the pronunciation for certain words, but my main problem is, if the word has an apostrophe, it doesn't see that as a word when trying to fix it in the dictionary, so it keeps mispronouncing the word. Please fix this.

The UK English voices are decent and the Finnish voices are alright (with some issues). Finnish voices have more issues with pronunciation, but the voices itself sound nice quality-wise; some of the issues are fairly easy fixes with dictionary. The app itself is bit laggy and the prompt that freaks out if the app is not the default engine is annoying, but once you get the voices installed, they work just fine. Kudos for giving reasonable timeframe (7 days) to really test the voices out.

I'm using it with Hungarian and English, with "SayIt". I like it because it works and because only one time purchase needed not a monthly subscription. But if I would find more natural speech solutions with similar conditions, I would surely change. Not bad but not as good as Edge desktop browser read. Would happily pay some extra for improvements

The voices provided are great and worth the money. I'm not a fan of the voices provided by Google on my Pixel 2 XL, and the purchased "Oliver" UK English voice seemed perfect for my needs. Reading a sample piece of text works just fine, but after it hits punctuation it comes to a complete halt. The engine is not suitable for reading books. I'd love to see this fixed in the future.

These voices sound pretty good and I think they are totally worth the money. However, you are supposed to get a 7-Day free trial with the voices. I downloaded the trial voices yesterday and I'm already getting a please register vocalizer TTS constantly instead of hearing my ebook. It's difficult for me to judge the quality of the voices because I've only had about 10 minutes to use them.

Best voices out tgere since Ivona. Thr reason i didnt give 5 stars is because I am not allowed to rate individual voices on here. In my opinion, the UK English Malcom voice is very good. This is my "go to" voice. Australian English Lee is good too. It all depends on what is pleasing to your ears. Yes, some of the voices sound robotic, BUT some of them are very good. Each voice has a 7 day free trial, so you can discover whether you like the voice before buying it.

Vocalizer voices are wonderful. I have used them for years on many Android devices with TalkBack, as I am blind. The voices are great. We desperately need more languages, such as Irish/Gaeilge, please. This would help not only me, who is learning the language, but the entire country of ireland, as Irish is required in school!!! At this point, we have only one voice by a different company, which we can use. Everyone deserves to have voice choices.

I can't give it higher (or lower) because the trial voices won't even download. I was only able to listen to the 10 second test phrases, so I can't say it's better or worse than that. My problem is that I chose to download the Allison (US English) voice, and I had the option to do either the 48 MB Pro version or the 16 or 18 MB normal version. No matter which one I chose, the progress bar would start, but it never started. I even let it sit for half an hour, and it still wasn't complete. Maybe that's why the app has a low average rating?

Love the Vocalizer app. My favorite voice is Zoe pro. Tried the other US English voices but didn't care for them. Some sounded better than others. Zoe definitely sounded the best to me. She was more human like sounding. The only negative thing about using Vocalizer on my phone is Vocalizer saying letters and numbers when there's a graphic. I use Chrome as my browser. I'm not sure why this is the case. wy can't it say "graphic?" I don't need to hear the file or whatever it's reading. I'd appreciate it if you could address this in some future update for the Vocalizer app. It seems to do the same thing with Google tts. I don't know if this happens on all Galixy phones or all Android phones. Keep up the great work. I love Zoe and i'm so pleased to have her on my phone. Heard that Eloquence is pretty good too but he's a little too expensive for just one voice. Too each their own. If the other US English voices sounded more like Zoe, I'd download more of them. Reviewed each voice at least twice before choosing zoe. Would definitely recommend this app to others.
