Unbelievable. Right as it came out I was dreaming about speaking with it and not just typing, as it is slow. Now I just put it next to my pillow and say finish at the end of the message, his response can be adjusted in many languages and accents, as well as SPEED which saves a lot of time and the conversation is fantastic and the ads are not a pop up which I have to close, they are somewhere on the screen but oopsie, I am not looking at it, as it is a voice chat 😂 Thank you❤️

I am so glad that Voice GPT has been such an amazing help to you! It is truly an incredible tool that makes mundane tasks and complex queries much simpler and more efficient. many nice features and a great idea, unfortunately it rarely works as intended. ❌ fails to read bullet points without repeating itself 3 times, ❌randomly stops reading, ❌if playback fails or is stopped, the speaker button that is supposed to replay the response never works. whoever gets this concept right will be very successful, but this app can be incredibly frustrating to use. although I must admit, there isn't really anything else like it that I've found so it's off to a good start

finally an app that turns into voice in a convenient way. you can hear the response e.g. with closed eyes. It is simple, and convenient. reads your question and the answers. Starts to read while the answer just started being generated and during it. This is simple but helpful + better UX. An exemplar good & simple UX. You can change the speed, which is great. I hope they will add other voices, especially including british accent (also male). Also better text to speech converters (ai/nn-based).

When it works it's great. Problem is that often it doesn't work. I have the latest version v 2.12 and still it's stopped automatically prompting for voice input and doesn't automatically convert text to audio speech anymore. It worked OK for about a week then malfunctioned again. Painful when this happens. Waiting for a new update to fix this bug.

Wow. I've been looking for a good implementation of gpt as a voice assistant, this might have just hit the nail on the head. The ability to pull website context is awesome, would be great if that could be done by voice. Otherwise, this virtually replaces Google's Assistant. GPT4 functionality is also cool, yet still to get around to using it. Great work, great development, simple and easy. Making your own hotwords as well, lovely!

Edit unfortunately support declining no update since November 23. Wow actually does all it says, makes you think hard why openai's app on Android at least (not sure about on other platforms), does not currently do the things this app can. I'm still waiting for the snag, bug, issue with this. Tested on a very modest device and still runs perfectly.

I think the app is great for people that are using chat GPT while doing other things but it's typically a lot faster to read a response than to listen to it but if you're busy and you're asking questions I think it's absolutely fantastic. Could use a betteruser manual and more voices to choose from.

I had a few problems. First, the 40mb model need to use the Hey, chat hotword wouldn't download even after I turned off my VPN, I could not change the voice to my default one that is in my Android TTS settings and the ability to make a custom wakeup word is behind a subscription paywall. I am not willing to pay a subscription. I am willing to pay a one time fee. Everything is subscription based and it is slow financial death.

I would give this application a one out of five except that it does sometimes work. Most of the time it works but sometimes it does break and the voice input does not work either because of a mistake made by the application or because of chat gbt updating something on their end and it breaks something on this end. Otherwise yeah I mean it's very buggy

Very good experience so far. There are quite a few good features that extend the already awesome abilities of chatgpt. I would suggest making the amount of voices you can choose from bigger if possible. The current voices can do the job quite well, but the name of the application is "voicegpt," so the current selection of voices you are able to use are outdated, and bland. I have utilized these voices in a tts app i use all the time, and personally i would enjoy new, more fluid sounding voices.

This app had a voice icon option that appeared next to each response given by voicegpt whether gpt3.5 or gpt4 version, along with a copy icon to copy the response onto my clip board. Now both icons are gone. Then, I wrote the developers, explained my issue, and sure enough they quickly came up with an update, fix for the problem. Voicegpt is back the way we all need it to be. Great work!

App with lots of potential... I had used it before and uninstalled because the voice wasn't very good. It now seems better and overall it's a pretty functional app. A few things I'd like to see improved and I'd gladly pay for the premium: more voices, especially British, Australian, Irish female accents like Google assistant, faster text-to-speech for real time conversation, desktop website or plugin

So far it's been really enjoyable and IMMEDIATELY beat out Google assistant IMO. Being able to "name" the AI using personal start commands is really nice. My only holdback from a 5-star is that - even setting it up as my default assistant - I can't figure out a way for the mic to consistently stay active. Could be used error and I will update then. Once that problem is fixed, this app is incredible.

Awesome when it works. I have better luck using Google keyboard for speaking to it. The voice activation is a little wonky and auto send doesn't give enough time. Sometimes mic stops sending audio & needs a restart, but talking back and forth is awesome and all the templates and features show a lot of thought. Lets you use your openAI account so you can use the latest chatgpt instead of charging within the app. The ads are unobtrusive and most all the features are offered for free. Great app 👍

Pretty much just what I was looking for. I want a personal tutor that I can interact with via voice. The only negative as another reviewer mentioned, is that the idle time for your voice prompt/response is way too short. I have frequent pauses as I think about how to articulate the next prompt, and the microphone consistently shuts off and stops listening after like 3s. Besides that, this is a good interface. FWIW, I would absolutely pay for this but despise the subscription model. No thank you.

New update caused problems, but it seems they fixed it. Really helpful nice app when things work. Does alright on my pixel 8. No other app like it. Would be nice if there were a way to speak more than one language, and not have to switch back and forth, set the desired output language. Using native speech transcription, for example, I know with google assistant I can speak Spanish and English both in one sentence & it will transcribe them both.

Works very well at being a voice interface to the ChatGPT website! Much better than other apps I've tried, almost perfect really... I wish the UI wasn't just a wrapper for ChatGPT, but I think that probably keeps the app free and reduce need for ads... I also wish I could tune the setting for how long pause before the text is submitted, or perhaps a button I could touch while record to tell it to keep listening till I hit send. Keep up the excellent work! 👏

It's great so far just wish it's automatic speech output function worked properly as it claimed in new update. And I also followed all instructions pertaining to updating Google speech services, everything that was mentioned how to fix that in frequently asked questions. Everything mentioned was installed and updated for the speech output to work, the automatic part in particular, but has yet shown me the capability to automatically respond

I really want to give this more stars... All the features are there & then some. The problem is THE KEY features that matter the absolute most don't actually work. It will pop up & take your input with a wake work, & then do exactly nothing with that input. The settings to have it auto send prompts & read replies might as well be placeholders. The prompt just sits in the field waiting to be sent manually & then it won't read its own reply back to you unless you click the speaker under it. =/
