This thing is great! For under $ 100 it can't be beat. Have used it a couple of dozen times since purchase about 6 months ago and I wouldn't think of drilling another hole in a wall without it. Very detailed, wires pipes & studs clearly and plainly stand out so you know where to drill and where NOT to. Have used to "map" a couple of walls on out home for a large wall-mount unit and accuracy is at 100%. I couldn't bear to do home improvements with out it.

Really want to like this tool, it actually has so much potential, but the UX needs a complete overhaul! Too much wizard-like features! Just have a learn mode, then ability to turn off. Feature request: add ability to build an x-ray like image of a wall, use Augmented Reality, & motion sensors to build the image, so that i can get a big picture of what is behind the wall. Moving back & forth to to see bobs appear & disappear is fractionally useful, seeing those blobs plotted & objects traceable..

I've used this on a bath remodel as well as locating studs for hanging shelves. the plastic protective film only lasted a short time on textured wall and the adhesive for connecting to phone failed after 3 uses. if you have an old phone that you can leave connected it should last ionger. The app works as advertised and if the other problems are fixed I would give it 5 stars.

I don't know how many studfinders I have bought and lost, including the one I have in my garage right now. Somewhere. And it isn't the cheap model either. Now that I have used the Walabot I realize that I just have little confidence in them. Without going on and on, I followed the instructions on the app and had it finding wires and studs in minutes. It worked flawlessly, and exactly how it shows in the video. The gel pad to attach them woks great. In fact, a bit too great as it stuck well to my phone case. I had to very carefully remove it. Maybe the good folks at Walabot will sell these so I won't have to worry as much. It is a great solution, and I don't have a better one; I just want to be able to replace them if I tear it.

When I first heard of it, I was a big skeptic since most stud finders do not work, but I figured why not. I can say with full confidence that I was wrong and it exceeded my expectations. It found every object that I put it up to the task of without error. I even tested on areas where I knew stuff was just to see. If you are looking for a stud finder, I highly recommend Walabot. It is comparable in price to other ones but this one seems to work and with a visual response

Just got my Walabot which was a gift and tried it out. I was impressed when I saw the electrical wires going into the light switch and then going off at an angle toward the outlet below. It is really important to me to know where I can cut into drywall to repair or add something in a wall. It is great to see the studs when you are putting up closet rails. So easy to see the center of the 2 by 4's to make sure where to put a support screw. Only a slight negative comment, my walls are textured with orange peel which makes them a little ruff and the stick-on plastic to protect the Walabot and allow it to move smoothly is not wrapped around the unit enough to protect it from those bumps, but easily fixed with an additional wider piece or even clear tape. The Walabot is a very fun and useful tool - Get One!!

I am a home DIY'er, and have fixed, remodeled or bult nearly everything around my houses and garages. Over the years I have had at least 5 different stud finders, and all of them leave something to be desired. The Wallabot does a much better job of finding objects behind the wall than any other finder I have owned. I even tried it on concrete at work and it was able to identify conduit no problem. It does a better job of finding center of the stud than any other unit I have tried. Now if it would only work on expanded metal lath and plaster. But nothing works on that.

I have a maintenance and repair business and have used the Walabot multiple times. It is great for my needs. I've had this for over a year now,, and I've used it, so I feel qualified to give a review. I have had great success in using tje Walabot! I am still amazed how well it works. I have found wires pipes and of course wall studs! It is by far the best in finding studs than my 3 other stud finders. It beats the 'knocking' est I've used for decades. I can only think of 1 drawback in using this. It isn't self-contained. That's it. It has found stufff in walls. In spots I never expected to see. It's been a great tool for me. Short learning curve. Get one! Finding electic wires with a nail is never fun! Let the Walabot find it instead. Old House's are cool but a hidden pipe or electr ic wiring can be routed in strange places. Remodeling happens!

Going entirely blind, or removing chunks of drywall to see what lies behind is simply inefficient. This tool is pays for itself quickly AND minimizes the inconvenience that goes with unnecessary drywall repairs, texture matching and paint touch-up issues. Gone are the days of old-style stud finders, pilot holes, tapping on the wall with my knuckles and flat-out guessing where framing is located. Better; now I can find PEX, PVC, copper plumbing AND wires and all kinds of other items in the wall! Almost feel like I have super powers! Yes, a little intuition and common sense combined with a little knowledge of how walls are put together does help to use this tool in more conditions and to more effectively understand what you are seeing on the screen.

Great app great product. They really work well. I work for a construction company and do not have time for useless tools. This has replaced a much more expensive (and limited) stud finding device. Follow the instructions do the proper calibration and it just works. It takes a bit to get used to but when you do, wow! it's better than any "stud finder". I use an old Android of mine dedicated to this tool, works perfectly. The sticky pad that many complain about is like those "sticky hand" toys, just wash off the dust let it dry and it's as good as new again. It's really simple not hard at all.

Great tool for us amateurs and not so amatuer DIYers. Walabot is very useful and versatile. It as prevented me from drilling or cutting into walls where there were "hidden" pipes or wires. That in itself would be more than enough reason to buy it. But it also lets me scan the wall and find the studs and other hidden items much better than a run of the mill stud finder. Its been a very valuable and useful addition to my toolbox. I had no problems downloading and installing the app on my android device. I recommend everyone have at least one! Pros can certainly use this to cut down their mistakes too. Get one for every handyman in your life!

I had a defective unit and eventually complained about it (the usb port would partially stay connected and lose connection upon the slightest movement). I was sent a replacement device for free even outside of the 1-year warranty window, with another device with the same problem. The customer service in that regard was great, but for both devices, I did relatively extensive testing to confirm that the problem wasn't with any of the phones nor cables I was using; it was for sure the connection port.

This app is satisfactory for use with the walabot for identifying what is behind my wall and where it is centered. It has three imaging modes which are useful. However the setup and calibration of the app every time is annoying. I suggest a config file that saves the calibration for cases where I am scanning the same kind of drywall. Also the user needs a way to skip all the information or tutorial stuff if not needed.

It's gotten better. A lot of ppl rag on this thing but I've had it almost a year and it does take a while to understand how and what it's displaying. I use 2 of the 3 modes and I can tell what's what. There are limitations, it can't determine diff between a drain/vent pipe vs copper/pex... Just have to spend time with it. It's helped me out in a jam and other contractors all wanna see it work. EDIT, Upgraded to 5 stars. They've got it figured out! Once calibrated it's very accurate. Thx

Worked at first but did give a few too many false positives. After a year all I get now is an error telling me to uninstall and reinstall. To use it now takes up to 15 minutes to get it going. Edit...Thanks Ashley but I have sent in 4 support requests and the only solution given was to uninstall and reinstall. I did that yesterday and now it will not calibrate. I just stand there swirling it around on a wall until my arm gets tired. I have tried this on two phones, both Samsung however. to be a usable product it needs to store calibrations (I use this on 1/2 sheetrock walls) needs to be usable in the field were a WiFi connection is not always possible. and the startup need to remember the last settings and skip all the questions. thanks for the reply though

Great product and phenomenal customer service! The product itself is great and is much better than a stud finder, as it shows pipe and wiring as well. What stands out is the customer service. I received my Walabot and it didn't work, so I sent a help request. On the phone, the agent was very technologically capable and easy to talk to and was able to pinpoint that the issue was the usb cable. He sent me a new one and I had it 2 days later. Everything works great now

I'm just a regular homeowner that occasionally needs to know where to hang things etc. Stud-finders are disappointing at best, and need a battery replacement every time. Walabot makes it easy and works every time. More, I can see pipes, wires, etc, too. I have used it for threading new cables behind the walls, too. Highly recommend this one. It seems too good to be true every time I use it.

I've used many "stud finders" in the past and there's always something not right...and replacing batteries right when you need it is frustrating. One of the best features of this device is it can show wires and plumbing pipes too. ...very useful when "exploring" where to hang heavy objects or "hiding" wires for electronic devices. Just a great product!

"I really like this unit! I had trouble connecting but received great help from Tech Support. I have Nord VPN on my phone and it was blocking the signal from my Walabot. I used an old phone and it connected immediately. I just keep the old phone with the Walabot in it's case and I'm ready to go in less than a minute. It requires nothing but a smart phone with working wifi reception which means you can use it anywhere, no outside power source needed. I give it five stars!"

The startup process to use this device every single time is ridiculous. Not only does it make you calibrate every single time you use the device, it makes you click through the tutorial every time. I have the same kind of drywall and paint throughout my house. Why do I need to calibrate every single time? I ended up buying another stud finder on top of this one because of how annoying this startup is. In response to the developer response: I do have tutorials off and it still shows prompts.
