Pretty frickin awesome, u get quite a bit for free here, only complaint so far is not being able to record the tracks over 50 measures. The way around this I believe is to record though a separate Mic app or stock, to get a longer length of rec. Time and upload via the midi file also found within the app. Overall, the most used app. On my phone. From a musicians standpoint that writes, sings, and plays my own music, this app. Is awesome for on the go, or even sitting in a hotel room.

Honestly, super fun app. I've had it on multiple phones and it's great to fiddle around with and keep up on my knowledge of progressions and such. there's nothing like the real thing, but this helps sub til you can get to it. piano feature is the highlight, but you can do quite a lot if you're patient. i reccomend 14 keys for your piano, but scale to your phone size if needed. thank you guys for this, I'd lose a lot of music knowledge if it wasn't for this. I and other broke musicians thank you

I know the developers are active in the reviews and I have to say, Good app. Its no ableton live but its pretty solid for a mobile app and a free one at that. However, there's one thing that NEEDS to be added, and that is the ability to change the bpm, and frequencies of individual audio bits in the multitrack. I've been trying to make a solid track from mediocre mobile apps, and that is what always messes me up. Im sure that im not the only person. cmon Revontulet soft, help a brother out.

I have used this app for several years now. As a music and television producer, it's one of my best tools for recording quick demos, narration. I have always used the free version and have never had any problems. In the past year (2022-2023) there have been some updates and improvements that have enhanced some of the features and they're great. I don't often put out reviews, but this one is worth it! I've installed it on 3 phones I've had. Don't change a thing Walk Band team, okay?

This app is very compatible. However, it slowly starts becoming more and more glitchy. The audio for the guitar starts to play for not even half a second. The audio starts playing like different instruments (you'll put in Audio for drums but it will sound like a guitar) Also, please make it so you can bend strings for more realistic guitar playing.

After recording a guitar part, I try to make a new track with a different kind of guitar. When I do this, it changes the song so that both tracks are the same exact guitar sound. When I try to add a bassline to guitar parts, it changes all the guitar tracks to bass tracks. What the hell is wrong with your app? Get it fixed and get it right and I'll give you 5 stars. I should be able to have multiple tracks for multiple instruments without them changing each other. Ridiculous.

Great app, But the midi editor could be better. First of all, every time I change one of the instruments, it automatically changes random others to the same one. If I switch them back, it changes the first one I changed. This is frustrating and can stop a whole project. Second, I don't like how you must stop the playback every time you want to edit a section of the song. It jumps back to the beginning and I lose the place in the song I wanted to edit.

This app is good... except for when it isn't. I bounce back and forth between this, Soundtrap, and my built-in recording on my physical instruments. All offer something different, and I have no particular preference. But, this app has some pretty big flaws. It's buggy, glitchy, and sometimes just weird. I just made a pretty good sounding song on here, saved it, played it back and... it's completely out of tune and time. What the hell even happened? Also, lots of ads. And locked instruments.

When a first got it, it was fine, but something changed once I recently updated it. Some of the plugins were no longer available, and many of the sounds on the piano changed, but not in a good way. Some played too short and didn't sound quite right, while others played too long, even when I shortened how long the sound was sustained. Even worse is the delay between key presses and when sound is actually created. This makes it really difficult to play. I hope they change it back to the way it used to be. 😥

This app is a handy to use as a notebook for those spontaneous riff, song, and lecture ideas. I use it all the time. It's easy to use. I only use it for guitar, bass, and voice tracks, so I can't speak to the other features. Highly recommended if you're always wishing you could record that riff real quick before you forget it, cause you know it happens.

Looks pretty and works as described but not very intuitive for me and trying to figure it out with ads popping up constantly makes it not worth it. Mobile music apps really suck for me none are as easy as my pc set up. I dont have hours and hours to figure out how to layer a couple of instrument tracks into a song. If you have patience and time it might be a very good app for you.

Absolutely terrible. I get that this is a mobile app and all, but I just wanna make music. It shouldn't be this hard to find an app as good as garageband. Every time I make the slightest error in the multi track recording I have to delete the entire instrument track and open it back up again. It is such a tedious process. Another problem I have is the organ; Sometimes the app will go completely apeshit and the organ will sustain a note for as long as the app is open.

Great app, but I've noticed some issues with the audio. I'm not sure if you have updated this app in November, but that's when I started to notice them. For example, if I play several notes on a keyboard simultaneously (let's say 5+ notes), the audio will start to sound very... static. It's kind of an issue considering the fact that a lot of my songs have the piano in them. If you could fix that, that would be great. Other than that, this is a great app for making music.

Really handy little multi Tracker app for capturing ideas on the fly with your cell phone! I haven't used the onboard instruments but I've used it to multitrack acoustic guitar and vocal parts. It doesn't offer a whole lot of editing options but you can cut paste split and move parts around and adjust track volume... but what else do you want from a free phone app??? I was definitely able to comp tracks and mix it down to an mp3 for a decent working rough draft to share with other musicians. I was pleasantly surprised to say the least, it definitely exceeded my expectations for a free app of this type, and the ads were never obnoxious and never interfered with what I was doing. I would definitely recommend this app. It would be cool if I could send a working file to other musicians with the same app for collaboration... haven't tried that yet so don't know if it's even possible.

Only used Walkband for around 3 months now, and it's been a great, annoying experience overall, in my honest opinion. There's many bugs in the multitrack yet to be resolved (I assume from past experience) but if your commited to making your song, then you'll be fine. This app is better for newcomers to the music world (people learning music theory) anyways. Probably the best free DAW on Android. Hopefully in the future you can improve the UI (gridlines?) and fix the MP3. 10/10 ⭐Keep working hard

This is an amazing app. Unlike other apps, you can create your own loops and add crisp audio, not normal audio. However, the labels on some of the primary actions are stupid. When I hit backspace accidentally while trying edit something, it said save project, ok or cancel. Thinking cancel meant to exit function menu, I hit cancel. This deleted 3 hours of hard work. I think Save Project? would be a yes or no question. Other than that, the app is good.

I would gladly give this app 5 stars but for one thing in the drum machine where it lists the beats that I make, there is no way to sort the titles that I give them making me have to jump around and search for them every time as they seem to be placed in the list randomly. If you could add some kind of sort feature to sort by name that would be great. I was at 4 stars for a while and have brought it down to 3 as the tempo playback on the drum machine is very inconsistent and I'm having a hard time getting anything to play back in perfect time aligned with my click track. I can actually hear the points where it struggles, slows down and screws it up...sometimes even playing 2 separate notes on top of each other.

This app finally made my garage sale purchase of a Jamstik+ Bluetooth wireless midi guitar worthwhile. I just wanted a tiny guitar that enabled me to stick to my NYE resolution to learn guitar. For some reason the makers of the Jamstik didn't think to include guitar sounds on their guitar midi app. Enter Walk Band. Thanks dev! Connecting was a breeze and tones are easily customizable. Pro-tip: Split screen this app with ChordAI to practice playing along on the Jamstik with any song on YouTube.

I don't know what's happening but it seems like every time I get about halfway through my song it starts playing back all choppy or it cuts out on me in the middle of a take and it keeps flipping over thinking that it's supposed to be upside down normally and it's really frustrating honestly I'm getting really upset that I have to keep re-recording my songs over and over again after I put so much work into it makes me not even want to start another project if I do it'll mess up before I finished

I love this app. I've been using this app to record music and then put my music on music streaming apps. The only problem with it is that there aren't enough instruments to play around with. There aren't enough options to edit the sounds of the instruments. Such as good reverb options, timbre, echo, delay, panning, and other editing tools most DAWs have. Music Zone is cool too. You can share your music with other WalkBand users. It's basically social media for Walkband. 4 stars!
