I downloaded this app because the weather app native to my phone dropped a few functions I used frequently. The only downside for this app is the widget which only comes in one flavor. There aren't alternate sizes (it's a 2X2) and my old one offered 1X1, 1X3, 2X2, and a colosal 2X3. This one also has a bright, white, opaque background. No option to change the color or make it translucent. The app functionality is good enough that I can live with the lackluster widget but I wish they'd improve it

I have the opposite problem another person stated... My app will not load with wifi on, or if it does load it takes many full minutes to do so. I had uninstalled and reinstalled, started, changed settings, the works but had given up on the app. Out of curiosity, after reading that review, I reinstalled the app to see if it was an issue with the wifi amd sure enough with the wifi off the app loads immediately. Not sure what the deal is, it's frustrating because I've used this app for so long.

I've been using the Weather Underground app for quite some time now, and it continues to impress me with its accuracy and an amazing interface. The data-driven forecasts, radar maps, and severe weather alerts, allows me to plan my activities with confidence. One feature I particularly appreciate is the crowd-sourcing of weather data, which often gives me hyper-localized updates for my exact location. Overall, WU is hands down my go-to weather app for staying informed.

A pretty decent app for the most part. Few issues, radar data does not always initialize properly resulting in many minutes between samples and a rough jumping image. Also the wind speed and direction fields on the home page are not aligned properly with direction pointer and value partially obscured. Follow up 4/29/24 Has multiple problems with sizing and location of data fields. When the screen is rotated, there is overlapping of text. No direct support from home page for pws access

I was excited when I saw that I could view Wunderground's basic weather data from the status bar of my Samsung Galaxy. But then I was confused because the temperature never changed, unless I went in and manually opened the Wunderground app. Of course, that negates the convenience of simply looking at my notifications for the temperature! It turns out that the default setting for the status bar is for the temperature is to update once every 60 minutes! It should be once every ONE minute!

Still my go to weather app for many years. Excellent radar screen that can easily be zoomed in and out. Week plus weather forecast with frequent updates. Wind speed and direction clearly shown. Several categories can be looked at with greater depth. Day length, sunrise/sunset, first/last light clearly shown. I can look back over the prior day to check on the high or low. I may look at other apps at times for alternate forecasts, but this app has become the way I think about weather forecasts.

Update: guess I spoke too soon. The app will not open it gets stuck on the opening icon and stays there. Will ask refund on subscription. And cancel. Almost perfect. I have 3 weather apps this one is the best and close to perfect. Two things. the radar map does not go into the future it stops at Now, which I don't need since I'm at the present moment. Second, the status bar icon does does refresh at the interval I chose, I have to manually refresh to get the current Temps in the status bar.

Overall it's a pretty good app. Sometimes it's not accurate but when is any weather forecast truly accurate. It's an easy app to use. I do like that you can see the present days forecast, the hourly and the weeks forecast on one page. On their web site you must view each section on individual pages (it used to be all on one). The app at this time does what I need it to do.

This was hands down the best weather app in terms of accuracy and information like hourly wind speeds several years ago but ever since IBM bought it out they stopped using individual people's weather stations so the accuracy declined, and for the past year I have had an issue with it loading any information, just that spinning circle, even when I am connected to WiFi and all other apps are functioning normally. I reinstalled a few times, no change. Very sad and disappointed.

Much improved since last time I had it installed and used it regularly! Currently much more accurate than the other weather apps and they have improved the format so reading it is smoother and more intuitive. (They changed it at one point and it went from great to really annoying and inaccurate.. I am glad to have it back in an improved version because it has traditionally been my favorite weather app!)

Great tool! So far it's got what I was looking for like the radar map that shows the moving clouds, and it shows a circle of my location in the map, although I wish it has the same thing for the wind directions. I have tried multiple apps and could not find one that had it all. There is always something missing. Great job folks, please keep it with these great features.

Overall a good experience, but would be nice if there were more customizing options on the 10-day view. It tends to look more cluttered, especially on a mobile devices. Also very little incentive to upgrade to premium. All they claim to offer is 15 day forecasting, which is going to be highly inaccurate anyway. I would consider an upgrade to remove ads for a one-time price, but no subscription please.

Second update: OK, aside from the ads, which are a necessary evil, this app is my go to. Local stations means more accuracy. Updated review : Unfortunately, I have to agree with everyone else as to the results of the latest update. IF IT AIN'T BROKE, WHY TRY TO FIX IT? Please... Go back to the app design from before November 2019!!! Only change I'd make is having dewpoint and RH on the first screen, but I'm getting used to (gasp) scrolling...Great app, with real time, local monitoring stations!

Switched to an app that pulls in NWS data for two main reasons: 1. WU in my area was often too shy of being accurate enough to rely on, making me double check with NWS anyway. 2. Inconsistencies on forecast within the app itself. For example, the weekly forecast toward the bottom of the homepage will show partly cloudy with no mention of chance of rain, while the current forecast at the top shows "30% precip. Thunder in area." Refreshing/reloading the app does not correct this.

Forecast is generally accurate, reliable. I prefer the earlier format for hourly forecast w/visual rain chance graph (solid blue area) overlayed onto temp line graph, so I could see both at once. WhenIBM separated them into two graphs, I can't see the time & day -- above temps & below rain-- on my phone screen if I look at both graphs at the same time. Takes nuch longer to plan best dates for outdoor activity or travel when I have to keep shifting up & down on the screen.

Update: Still works well and accurately! Highly reccommended! After 2+ years of use I still feel the same. Highly recommended! This is a great app for weather on the go, as well as for more detailed information. Can't say enough good things about this app. UPDATE: Well it's seven years on now but this is still my favorite weather app. Clear easy to understand info and intelligent graphics.

When selecting my local city, the 'now' time is hours behind and the 'map in motion' does not display smoothly. SOME selected cities DO show the current conditions, but you have to switch back and forth between cities before getting the current conditions at my location. It's been like this for YEARS now. Fix it. (Yes, I've cleared my cache and uninstalled and reinstalled your app. This is a YOU thing, NOT a me thing.)

It is with sadness that I am giving one of my once favorite apps a one star review. I have been using the app for many years and the website before the smartphones were popular. The Nov 2019 update made it such a frustrating maze to use. Among multiple features that are missing, one that I use a lot is precipitation amounts per hour. This was an extremely helpful feature for upcoming snowstorms, like the one we have coming now to the NE. So very disappointed. Edit 2024: lots fixed, 4 stars.

The app worked fine, but the layout on my screen left little room for reading a forecast. Also, I would have thought that the summary icon that stayed at the top of my screen would auto-update, but it only did once you opened the app. (I didn't need to know yesterday's 'weather at home when I'm currently three states away.) It's actually much faster to go to Weather Underground's mobile site than to wait for the app to update, so I uninstalleed. I can even scroll through the whole forecast.

Was very accurate and reliable. Could use a facelift. Widgets are ugly and not very customizable. Lately, very buggy and usually tells me to try again later. When it does work, the days are off. I'm currently looking for a replacement. I re-installed and works better. But now radar has blocks that are missing. The maps work but precipitation has areas that are missing. Update 5/26/24 App has been bug free and very accurate.
