This app is good. It does what its supposed to do. It's a free version of a paid app with ads and some limitations. If you want any more than a few white noises that works with the app open or the screen off, get the paid version. It's only 99¢ and at least on the iOS version it comes with noise recording, no ads, and more sounds.

I have plenty of good things to say too, however sometimes the noise just cuts off abruptly. Sometimes the noise restarts in a second, sometimes in a dozen seconds, and sometimes I have to restart it manually. It may have something to do with the updating of other apps, as I've seen update notifications a few times while restarting, though it might just be coincidence. It may also be coincidence but I've found that setting a timer to go off long after you awake tends to keep it from crashing.

I love using the app, they changed it so you can leave the app and still have sound running! However I'm noticing with the sounds I like (AC, brown noise) that there are underlying beeping noises I'm such a light sleeper that this bothers me when I'm getting to sleep, even though you can barely hear it. Other than that this app is wonderful, I love that it's free!

Have used this for a few nights. The heavy rain is nearly equivalent to white noise by itself. Would have rated higher, but free version of app won't run background audio if you use your phone for anything else. That's annoying. Supposedly, $1.99 will cure that. Otherwise, seems like a good app. Note: Developers say audio is now available on app while using other audio phone functions.

I can't sleep without white nose and sometimes a fan isn't loud enough. I connect a Bose speaker and blast the white noise. I only use one on the whole app but it works perfectly!! 3-13-23 Update: this app has been great up until a few months ago. It'll turn off on its own, sometimes for a few seconds, sometimes completely . I open it up and it's still running. I check to see if there's something going on in the background and nothing. I set my phone to DND. Going to get a plug in machine.

Lots of choices. Can adjust the pitch and level. I wish it would stay on even if the phone rings or I get alerts. (I have my phone set to silent when white noise is on.... but the alert makes the noise kick off) UPDATE: for the past couple months it has been stopping completely in the middle of the night. Sometimes more than once. This used to be such a great app. I am looking for another now.... I need it consistently.

The app does help me sleep. However, every single night the app crashes at 4am and either doesn't open back up,or it glitches multiple times. I've restarted my phone, uninstalled the app, then reinstalled. There are no timers set within the app, and I have not changed any settings in the app. I have a Samsung galaxy s23 ultra. Is this happening to anyone else?

At 3am, the app starts fading the white noise every 5 minutes and wakes me. Set a timer for 12 hours and tell it not to fade? Too bad. At 3am, I'm going to be woken up anyway. I'm losing more sleep than when I just used YouTube. Uninstalled. Use the Sleep Sounds app instead. I actually got a full night's sleep with that. It's still free, and it gives more control to the sleeper.

Free, has never crashed or been buggy in the many years I've used it, doesn't take up much space, sounds just fine on my phone's speaker, no Bluetooth speaker necessary. Some of the sounds are just awful for sleeping, but maybe someone would want them for other sound effects. But some are totally solid. Thing is, it's free, you can find at least a few sounds that are just right for sleeping (my family & I like Box Fan & the rain sounds), & it really works great as white noise & helps us sleep.

I used this app to sleep for years, and occasionally it would glitch and stop working, but generally it was good. However, every night for the past week, between midnight and 1 am, it stops working, causing me to wake up. I will be uninstalling and finding another white noise to sleep, which is unfortunate, but I cannot keep being woken up in the middle of the night.

I use this app every night to help me sleep. It has a brown noise option which I prefer that has lower frequencies that are dominant, as compared to white nose. Haven't really tried the others too much. On rare occasions, it shuts off in the middle of the night, which is a bit frustrating. But it may be a phone issue and not an app issue, so I kept the rating at a 5.

This app helps me a great deal with sleeping at night. I like that you can choose between different colors of noise. However it's not super stable. Last night, for example, it closed itself 3 times. It doesn't do that most nights when I use it, but it always wakes me up when it does. I do think it's still the best of the free white noise apps available, though.

Great background noises. I use this sometimes when I sleep and work. I've recommended it to family and friends. I'm thinking about buying the upgraded version. Two year update: Deducted a star. Background and alarm noises now fade out entirely then in rather than at the same time. It's not a smooth or pleasant transition. Searching for a new sound is slow and sounds repeat. I wasn't able to create a playlist that incorporated a recording a friend made in another app. A few other small things.

I've been using this app to go to sleep for years, but now in the middle of the night the app randomly crashes several times and it wakes me up. Sometimes you're able to immediately go back in the app again, other times you need to completely restart your phone. I can't sleep without it so this severely disrupts my sleep now every night. Please fix this issue!

I've used this app for many years while I'm going to sleep. I leave it on overnight and it does not stop paying! The only time that happens is when my phone does an auto update and it does not resume. The proof is in the info tab: "You have listened 2,168 times for a total of 1 year, 38 days, 10 hours, and 40 minutes" 5 stars over and over again!

Day 1 and I got a warning from my phone in the middle of the day (when it was not running) that this app was significantly slowing down my phone, with a recommendation to put it into deep sleep. no thanks. I will pass. What ïs it doing in the middle of the day that's requiring so much energy from my phone?? Hopefully not running Spyware... but I can't future out what else it would be.

I've used the App for many years during the night. A year or two ago it started turning off, then back on, and staying on. Then it started turning off and staying off until I would get up and start it again. Presently it is happening almost every night. These problems aren't with just with my 2 month old phone, it happened with the 2 or three older phones, one of which I still use occasionally for the noise effect.

The lite version is amazing. I'll be upgrading just because I want to give back for all the value I have received. I have used the "brown noise" several times when I sleep in hotel rooms or anywhere not at home and it does a great job. No seams in the sound where you can hear it repeat or anything like that. I have a sound machine that I can hear a pattern repeat and it drives me a bit crazy. This is better.

I am very grateful for this app. When I don't have wifi This app works. And after white noise on YouTube stopped playing at 3am(goodbye sleep!) I found this app. It doesn't fill up my phone either. Only issue I have is it seems to eat my battery. I go to bed with it at 75% and in the morning it is 20% . I have tried battery saver and turning off the web but no change in low morning battery.

Use to work wonderfully but now has an issue of randomly shutting off in the middle of the night. Usually it will disrupt my sleep and I'm sure it's not my phone. It has happened on a few different phones, probably started a few months ago possibly more. Now my dreams are interrupted with that silence. It's just really annoying, this app has been my go-to for a long time and it mostly works so I'm not bashing it or anything.
