To much of a lag to be useful. I'll keep using my webcam until I have a need for it. Changed the rating to a two when the developer suggested I use a usb cable. It probably would work since my existing camera has one. But it makes using the phone as a web cam even less desirable for me.

major lag. Wont work with zoom or with streamyard. crashes desktop app -xsplit [full paid version]. If I start a stream on desk top and choose xsplit if wont display. If I start a stream from my ph its very laggy, and low res. good idea. needs better compression.

Flawless capturing. This thing didn't skip a beat once. Amazing performance. I personally use it to co host my podcast. I record and capture very easily. It interfaces well with many different programs. Definitely recommend for any use that needs a Webcam.

This app does work fine to connect a phone camera wirelessly to a PC to be used as a webcam in any software. I didn't test USB capability. My main issue is that it only supports 720p at 30fps which is not very good. Especially as I wanted to use it for Mixed Reality in VR. It also doesn't get picked up by Nvidia Broadcaster which does slightly better background removal than Vcam seems to.

it's perfect for my use case. which is very simple.... I don't want to spend 100 bucks on a webcam that won't never reach the image quality of the front camera from my Samsung phone. I only receive compliments on the image quality now, using teams mostly and slack. but also tested on meets and Skype. note: I work on desktop computers, they so not sport webcams by default.

connection and refresh are always problematic. the phone doesn't ask enough for computers permission. downgrades my cameras full potential. always leaves trails on the bottom of the image. I would expect more advanced features for software coming from a professional service. The simplicity will drive you mad when you can't even set your quality and it downgrades you cameras full potential. I know these developers can do better with the competition out there.

Trash that doesn't work 90% of the time - Vcam hangs trying to detect my phone and seemingly only does so after uninstalling and reinstalling, and after restarting both phone and pc (and still, it wont work). Currently, xsplit cant even pull it (in vcam) as a video source correctly.

Could not connect the app on my phone to my pc. I tried many different options, from USB tethering, wifi, hell I even tried Bluetooth. Nothing would work. Considering this is a fundamental point of the app, I got nothing but frustration from installing this app.

I think this app and the XSplit app on Windows are amazing, they are really good, I have the free version and I find the water mark annoying and but I get that they have to earn money some way and I would rather it be that way than constantly bombarding you with ads. The free version dose everything that I want for now and I found it by looking for a background remover and then I saw it again on the LTT channel, I love the way you can use your phone as a webcam in such an easy and good way.

Works well, but a few wishes.. wish vertical camera worked by not forcing into horizontal mode. This would make it usable with pixel stand. I couldn't get usb mode to work, following all tutorials, at least wifi is fast enough. Sometimes when the app forces to horizontal mode the feed gets scrambled, switching camera front to back cleans it back up. Using pixel 7 for ref.

Pretty ok for a start. Missing a few features compared to competitors though: 1. Edit app settings on pc 2. Start/Stop on lockscreen (using a trashed phone with a mounted selfie stick, it's cumbersome to always start the app on the phone itself as it's not running 24/7) 3. More Stream quality controls such as fps & resolution. 4. Zoom & tilt options (again controllable by pc) 5. USB Mode without wifi enabled 6. Latency maybe? Vcam is top notch though, keep up the good work.

I have tried dozens of other mobile virtual camera apps and this by far gives me the best quality of the camera available, other apps aren't able to achieve even half of the native camera quality. Since it's working over Wi-Fi, it might get a few frames dropped in like an hour long recording, so having a USB powered transfer would be great, but even without that it still beats the competition by a very large margin.

Not getting picked up through the network all the time and is unreliable, I have since fixed this by connecting with a USB cable (which I was trying to avoid in the first place). Also the lack of edit options is also disappointing. However, worst of all, it does support portrait mode with the phone - this I find quite surprising giving most interfaces are heading towards mobile friendly. Without being able to be used in portrait mode renders this app quite usless for modern applications.

Doesn't work. XSplit detects that I have it on my phone and allows me to select it, but the camera is still defaulting to my normal webcam. If I disconnect my webcam, XSplit just gives me a blank screen because no camera is dectected.

I changed my review. What happened to the XSplit connect that I used to connect the webcam to PC? Wired with debug mode, or using the same WiFi. Both methods I have tried with the application opened, but this app becoming useless. No camera display. Is this a joke? I have to use my 720p old camera instead, connected manually to my PC. The Xsplit Vcam works, but not this app. Very disappointing.

Great app. Perfect for the G14/G15 laptop type user. It still has some issues but the 2 most glaring are 1) no portrait/vertical mode when in "live/Wi-Fi/USB" feed mode so your phone is always horizontal. 2) USB mode may or may not work with your laptop (worked on my Asus but didn't on my Alienware). Great service though. I'm happy i purchased it for my PC

Please add support for dimming or turning off the screen while the app is running. This kills my battery and will eventually lead to burn in as the screen faces several powerful LED lights while streaming. Updated, as long as the dev keeps their word on fixing this, this is a great app and has zero delay between this and the xsplit software, keep the wifi close and you're good. On Droid Cam there is a slight delay.

The lack of regular updates is disturbing, especially for security and functionality. Last update was 22 March 2022. I've been using this app for a couple of years as my webcam for my computer. As of 22 August 2022 the app and my computer have stopped communicating whatsoever. I've tried rebooting both devices, reinstalling both apps, resetting connections in the apps. I've gotten nothing. This started right when I needed it most this week.

I want to love this. I really do. I literally paid for it but it doesn't shoot in portrait mode and that is the biggest fail ever. I actually stopped using it and forgot why. I came back to it after about a year and immediately saw the issue and remembered a year ago I reached out to the design team about that and they said they were working on it. A year later probably more and nothing. Like want to shoot 9:16 you are sol. It makes it un usable.

They keep leaving a message to contact support when no fix has been applied. I appreciate what works. But, after the last update, I am still not connecting since Android 14. Xsplit still connects to my android 13 device. However the better cam is on the Android 14 phone. Vcam.ai doesn't connect to either. On macOS14. No ETA on fix. Will update ONLY AFTER FIX IS APPLIED. As of now this does not work properly across androidOS14 devices.
