I really want to like this app ... I really do. In particular, I love the way Yahoo displays stories. The story and news feed pages are clean without clutter and stupid cover up ads at the top and bottom. But ease of reading is nice only if you actually have something to read. The selection of news sources is dismal. Worse, the sources are almost entirely liberal media outlets. Conservative news sources are seriously lacking. We need both!

I was excited to finally be able to watch some football since any other streaming service cost $40+ just to watch local channels. Almost the entire game, it said 'could not play video' or the screen was frozen. I have tried all of the trouble shooting issues, but nothing worked. Do not waste your time! And yes, I do have the most updated version and my device is updated as well. Just fix your app. It's not us users, it's your app that is the issue.

I recently dumped the ESPN app and started using YAHOO SPORTS. I was so frustrated because I couldn't even check scores without adds causing the the page to scroll back to the top of the page every time I tried to use it! So far I haven't had too many issues with YAHOO. I'm hoping that I will continue to have good results because the app appears to be user friendly so far. Please don't ruin it with popups and advertising! I understand that some adds will show up from time to time in order for the app to continue to operate. I just don't want to deal with constant adds making it unusable! 🤞

can't view the scores on the main page anymore. used to be able to follow multiple games and now have to go to each one to view the scores. please fix. in the meantime, uninstalling and looking for a different app. also for those that don't enjoy updates make older version available. actually, uninstalled and reinstalled. now app is working. however, I still think you should have older version available.

This really is a great app. The reason for my low rating is to hopefully draw attention from the devs to a bug regarding video playback. When reading some articles, audio from another article's vid will play in the background, and I never clicked on that particular one (article). I believe it has something to do with the ability to swipe from one article to the next. Please fix!!!

Good sports app that updates quickly. Only problem is if I get a notification of a story I want to read, when I open it immediately, the article won't load, and if I try to find it it's not there. So I have to purposely wait ten minutes and it will open fine. I assume this is because the article hasn't been posted yet but the push notification goes out first. Would love to see that fixed.

I like the app but, if you're an android user, the widgets leave a lot to be desired and fall short of many other available sports apps. A widget for my favorite teams (across all sports) is pointless to me. Depending on the season, many of the teams are not playing but are still represented in the widget. A widget with the ability to see all scores for a given/selectable sport (i.e. NFL, MLB, NHL, etc.) would be far more usable.

The app comes in handy when you're not home and want to watch live games. My only issue is the buffering and time zones. The buffering happens often, even when connected to WiFi. And when it buffers for more than a couple minutes I have to shut the app down and restart it. The time zone doesnt update for me even with my location on. Says game starts at 12pm but I'm on West coast time and early games start at 10. Other than that, good free app

what's up with the bold fonts? I liked the previous version better. it was sleeker looking. This one is confusing without the Favorites button. Now its all on the home screen. Took me a second to figure that out. Why can't you see your teams standings from their page? You have to back out and go to the league page. Just not efficient.

I was completely done with "the four letter network" and their poorly performing apps. So yea, it was on impulse one day, but I'm so glad I switched. No turning back...AND NFL games now with Yahoo Sports mobile? That's amazing in itself. The streaming is great. The app design is clean (and doesn't give me anxiety like others have). All the notifications and alerts meet or exceed expectations too. I have no complaints.

I have used this app daily for years. The recent update to list games in order by the highest ranked team in the contest rather then chronologically makes no sense to me. If it remains, I will probably have to look at other platforms to track the scores as they occur. The app has also been glitchy since the last update freezing often forcing me to force close and relaunch. ***Thank you for the quick response and fixing the app. It seems to working correctly again.

Recent Update made the app go backwards in functionality. The scores for the leagues you watch are no longer on the main screen. Now they have all the "most popular" sports or "most recent". You have to scroll through a bunch of sports you don't care about to find the ones you like. The new alternate option is to go to More and see all your favorite leagues, and then select each one you want to see the scores for individually. Should be the opposite. Essentially ruins the app

The app is atrocious. The browser is terrible, has no available options or settings, no forward or back button to use, no long press actions enabled, and there are usually MORE THAN ONE autoplaying, un-mute-able, and un-pause-able videos that start up at the same time. The overlapping audio is almost as awesome as how hot my phone gets, and how much data gets eaten up THE VERY INSTANT I dare tap one of the clickbait articles. Well done yahoo, well done

This app is great for keeping up with the game times, scores, and news for all my favorite teams and sports. I really like all the options for customizing notifications. I have one minor complaint, though. Considering this is an app for "smart" phones, is it unreasonable to expect pre-game notifications to display the game time in my local time? The notifications always show the start time in EDT... even when neither of the teams are from that time zone and I'm not located there either.

Overall, a usable app. The main problem is with the alerts. I've toyed with the settings for a while to enable them but alerts settings are inoperable and do not work. This functionality would be really beneficial when busy at work. Updating the app isn't worthwhile since it's asking for additional but unnecessary permissions (phone info, audio control, active network & Bluetooth control, camera access and microphone access). It's a sports info app; not a hardware controller 😒

picks tracker should be improved, even though my picks are based on hunches, no money involved. In baseball, there's no tab for a tie game, but it is a loss for everyone, instead it should not count. In soccer, you can pick up a winner, even after winning in penalties. But it is reflected as a loss anyway because it is ruled out as a tie game. Tech is quite advanced today, but this why rating is not higher.

Yahoo Sports app gets noticeably worse every few months. Functionality of features gets cut back, stats are more and more out of date or just flat wrong, plays during games stop updating, less watch availability of games, highlight videos won't play and when they did each time one touched the timing bar to review a play it stops over and over and shows a lengthy ad. Was a great app, then gone from annoyingly nearly unbearable to almost completely useless. Used to love her, but had to kill her.

Glitchy and prone to crashing. It crashes an alarming rate for a major app. I've had indie things work better. Additionally the soccer information is terrible, if it isn't the premier League you're lucky to even see the score at full time, let alone individualized stats. Also recently changed the layout and it's terrible. It is completely redundant with your personal team screen, and makes it incredibly hard to look at league wide results.

The newest update is terrible. The layout is a total mess. The list of scores is all jumbled together with team names wrapping around or cut off altogether. And instead of having the ongoing live plays on the main screen of an individual game, you now have to navigate to it because betting odds have taken their place. This used to be my favorite sports app mainly because it had the cleanest, most functional layout, but not any more. There was no reason to try to fix something that wasn't broke.

I'm loving it. I've had for years ESPN app, which I hate for the long time it takes to open up. yahoo sports opens almost instantly, sports score are well organized, and gives me all the interesting to me, in a single screen instead of being opening pages and pages to see what I wanna see. The worse part of ESPN, every page you open, you have to watch a commercial, which make the app hateable as hell, because you need a lot of time to see just some results. Yahoo is definitely less annoying
