Zwift Companion is a great place to plan your next activity. With all the events in one place and thousands to choose from, you're sure to discover like-minded athletes who want to get fit together. You can also find and join clubs on Zwift Companion.

You'll see rides chosen specifically for you based on your preferences, fitness level, and upcoming events. You can even set reminders, so you're never late for a ride.

You'll also find a bunch of cool information on Zwift Companion's home screen, like the number of people currently Zwifting, as well as any friends or contacts you're following.

Have a Zwift Hub smart trainer? You can also update the firmware with the Companion app.

DURING YOUR RIDE
With Zwift Companion, you can send RideOns, text with other Zwifters, bang U-Turns, choose between route options, and more. You can also adjust the resistance of your trainer on the fly during structured workouts, to increase or decrease intensity. Want to turn erg mode on or off, take screenshots, or see riders nearby and their stats? All of this happens on Zwift Companion.

POST-RIDE
Take a deep dive into your ride data and the folks you rode with. You’ll also find a progress bar for any Tours you’re participating in and the latest on any goals you set for yourself.

The app needs more polishing for Android users. the IOS version seems to be less buggy. During the ride Bluetooth will constantly drop out then you have to forceclose the app, turn off Bluetooth, wait 2 mins then restart the app. I will be opening a support ticket with Zwift to try and get some answers. For now seems like Android users are an afterthought for Zwift.

Very unstable and full of bugs. For example: parts of the UI go missing randomly; the map sometimes fails to completely load and cannot be moved; Bluetooth connection often fails, especially while running; loses connection to server every now and then. All this could be averted of those lazy folks at Zwoft would add support for Windows+Bluetooth, just like the people behind the Tacx Trainer application (for Windows 10) have.

I followed all the instructions in the troubleshooting guide for this app and nothing worked when trying to pair this with desktop. Turned off 2.4 GHz connection on the router, made sure I was connected to the same mesh router, turned off mobile data. I think that the structure of how this pair is with desktop is flawed and needs some reworking. Maybe it works better with iOS. I like seeing activities and events though, so two stars.

Running ZC in parallel with Zwift makes the game better. In particular, the companion makes in game messaging easier (compared to typing on an ATV or a laptop keyboard, for example). The event schedule is also more detailed and easier to use in the companion app, compared to the main game. I'm only giving four stars, because trading comments on an activity is difficult. (That's a hint, Zwift. can only see the one line I'm typing on -- hard proofread. Scrolling is very difficult).

Essential for Zwift. I use it for team rides and chatting with group. I can keep track of messages and conversation cross crossing the screen. I use it for running for the same reason as well. When in a training run/ride, the interval times and target power/pace is useful and has a nice range to focus on. Easy to use to find group runs and rides. Overall, app is polished and easy to use.

Great companion to Zwift. Would give 5 stars, but there is still room for improvement in connection issues occasionally and some features that would be helpful. I would like for them to have a little thumbs up next to the swifters nearby that you have already given a ride on to. It would be very helpful to be able to better track who you haven't given one to so you don't miss anyone. It shouldn't be so hard to give each person a ride on and take your mind away from the ride to navigate the app.

It seems they have fixed the issue where it would drop the connection constantly. It was very frustrating. If your WiFi dropped for a second this app used to not reconnect like other apps. Usually I had to open and close it repeatedly and turn Wi-Fi off and on to get it to start working again.

Functionality is great, map cache not so much. It would be nice to be able to clear map cache or manually download maps. Most areas of Watopia are a few thin strips of map. A few other maps are the same. Clearing cache does not help and clearing data only works for a little bit. Multiple Android devices, similar map issues.

i wish there was a Ride On button next to nearby riders' name in the list, to eliminate having to click on the person in the list in order (taking me to their profile) to give them a Ride On. it is super inconvenient while actually riding. im on Apple TV, so giving Ride Ons happens infrequently as a result of the inconvenience in both the ATV and in the app. The rest of the app is ok.

Pretty solid companion app. No big complaints after 3 months of riding. Loving Zwift! Edit: not a complaint. But a wishlist item - it would be GREAT if you could access profile data (badges, garage, etc...) from the companion app. I hate having to pick a route before entering Zwift, and then having to back out and repeat because I already had that badge.

Fun app adds to the overall positive Zwift experience. A few months ago, I suggested that route elevation profiles be made available in the ZWIFT App to complement the existing route maps. The developers listened and made it happen with 2 profile types: 1) an overall route profile that shows the whole route, and 2) pop-up profiles for each climb that includes gradients. This development deserves MAJOR KUDOS because this allows Zwifters to plan, gauge, and adjust efforts during routes!

5/2023: Adding the new world has been great and the additional levels (yet I'm only on 30) but I specifically had a shed in my backyard built for working out and Zwift. It's been a great winter and wet spring activity to do so thank you. But why did you get rid of the pause in monthly payment? 1/2021: Unfortunately it sucks a lot of power from my phone (wouldn't work on my old tablet) so uploaded it on an older phone. It works well.

This app has a problem with freezing up on rides no matter how long on everything like the map, the messages and etc etc.... closing down the app and restarting it doesn't help at all goes right back to freezing up... very dissatisfied with this app right now. Update: I just got the recent update, and the app is still crashing and freezing up in a matter of 15 minutes... what's going on here?!

Drops out all the time. Doesn't matter where I set up. 1st level, basement. Can't find where I am in a group because of the jockeying of others, but even if I am riding with 2 or 3 people, if someone drops back or comes forward I'm off screen. Everything lags by at least 1 full second (1 thousand 1). Pisses me off all the time. A 3 star rating is being nice.

Generally it's great but every now and then the Microsoft tablet version locks up and you loose what you have done. I think that was really a problem with the Surface Pro and not the phone app. It's really great when it all works because you can see exactly what you have done in terms of distance, power and heart rate afterwards. The new routes in Watopia are really great and the Tour of Watopia is always fun and good for your fitness!

It's really disruptive to my ride when Companion loses the ride I'm currently doing. I have to close the app and re-open it to get back into the dashboard for the ride, and I lose all of the messages from my group. I ride Zwift for the community, and this issue ruins that element. Zwift Companion also doesn't recognize my power-ups, so I have to reach for my laptop to use them

With the increases price they gotta have more guaranteed saving. I am still riding with messages from other players but cannot save. Lost a PR that was huge for me given my situation and weekly streak plus and hour messing around trying to get it to save. It is a clear design failure and no feedback to the user. The signal is saving the results is not a priority for zwift. super upsetting. using this for 4-5 years. I am pretty crushed.

App stopped working on my Android after 3/38/25. Up until it was functioning and Companion was a good app where I followed race/ride activity on game screen, chatted and selected Activities while riding Zwift. I hope Zwift can fix or explain compatibility issues. Note, Android has not had software update in all the time I've been using Companion. No new apps added recently. Companion issued an update 3/20/25. App worked fine 3/20-28/25. An uninstall/reinstall goes as far as log on then fails.

if I could give this app a zero I would. it's so incredibly unstable. it's become so unstable. it's almost impossible to chat during group rides. I randomly get kicked out of the chat and then have to either restart the app, or more recently, my whole phone to get chat to work again. we all pay way too much every month for this to be a problem

Excellent! A must have when used in conjunction with Zwift. That is, if you have Zwift on your laptop or tablet and you use the Zwift Companion app on your cell phone to give kudos, power ups, to message others, etc. I also use the app to check out the upcoming rides (activities) as it's much quicker n convenient than the laptop. Pedal down!
